For #blackhistorymonth I want to talk about this self-taught artist and entrepreneur named Ija Charles. She's from Columbia, SC. She gained national attention when she created a piece for the NFL's Nation Artist Replay Initiative and was featured on BET. She's painted over 15 murals across SC. She uses her art to spread positivity, empower viewers, and inspire the next generation. I decided to talk about Ija because she's personally an inspiration to me. I remember when my mama showed me Ija's "A Seat at the Table" interview on tv a couple of years ago, and I was like, "Wow, she is amazing!"
