Can now share my Secret 7″ design for Chvrches-Clearest Blue. It’s currently been auctioned on the Amnesty International eBay.  

Couldn’t use just typography for this project had to come up with another visually interesting way of showing the information. Splitting the sections up by colours helps to get the viewers head around how big the information actually is. 

I wanted the cover to be one that the reader would get after they finished the book. The make up style brush strokes and the typically girly/feminine colour palette set a contradicting look for what the book is actually about and the title plays to this as well. 

Building on from the basic cover I started with adding texture so not just using flat colour but it was also important to let the text be the main feature. I loved most of these colour ways and most of them probably could have worked.

Starting point for How to be a Woman. Typographic based which is what I feel really drawn too at the moment. 

Final cover for A Clockwork Orange. This has been summited to The Penguin Book Cover competition 2016. 

The cover was a little harsh in black so I lightened it a little to help make the orange stand out much more. 

Once i had decided on a front over the back was proving to be difficult.

First initial ideas taken from thumbnails and on to screen. Felt the book needed a cover that recognised the language rather than an image so I used the Nadsat glossary. 

Final design concepts for for Watermark. The design was actually shortlisted for the publication but sadly wasn’t chosen as the final design. 

Trying something a little different with the half tone. 

Playing with layers of half tone and colour creating Moiré pattern. I’ve wanted to use half tone in a project for a while and this seemed to fit. 

Breaking up type. 

Play around with ideas for the front cover of the publication. I didn’t want to use photography on the cover I want the name it’s self to be the main feature and imagery.  

Final design. Leaflet with poster. 

Starting to form more of an idea based around digital marbling, psych and waves. I wanted something that felt modern and clean to attract new people  but still friendly as its a family event. These are versions of the final design. Ended up going with the lightest blue version.
