Although Nonsan is Korea's highest strawberry 🍓-producing region, you will find the best quality strawberries here. Do you know why South Korea is doing best in agricultural and related science? There are many reasons; I will write about them one day. One of the reasons is that Korea has good agricultural research and extension services. The Nonsan Strawberry Experiment Station is one of the best research centers. Because this area is ideal for strawberries, they establish a research center here. This research institute has already launched different varieties and is working on different aspects of strawberry research. They also doing research with Japanese varieties, and farmers are already growing two Japanese varieties. According to JoongAng Daily, "strawberries grown in Nonsan are of various types: seolhyang, maehyang, geumhyang, janghi (akihime), and yukbo (red pearl)." Maehyang and Seolhyang strawberries are considered the most popular strawberry varieties in South Korea, earning the Prime Minister's Award. Janghi is the most grown strawberry in Korea.
