While shopping in Paperchase I found a few books that had interesting covers that I thought I could take inspiration from for making my own.

I thought this one was cute, because I like how the leather makes it look expensive and professional. I also like the strap that is wrapped around it and I will probably use one of these on my book.

When I saw this book I found inspiration to press letters into the front of my book, because it will just give it that but it’s prefessionalism.

I’ve had a lot of thoughts about how I am going to have the final book look.

The tail of Peter Rabbit is her most popular work, in this I love how she can portray each character as their own.

I’ve had a few ideas as to what I could include in the book, because I would like it to have the same context as what my company would have had which is to eliminate the stereotypes that are built around Down’s syndrome.

Ive put a lot of thought into my project lately, because to make an advertising campaign to advertise the good things about Downs Syndrome seems to become more of a bad idea the more i think about it. Because if i do go ahead and create posters that would eventually be used in city centres it could upset a lot of people, because not everyone feels the same way because it is a very sensitive subject with a lot of different opinions. And the last thing i want to do is to upset or anger people with my work.

After many hours of thought into what i could do, i have decided to create a book. With the book i will be trying to achieve the same thing as i am with the advertising which is to eliminate the stereotypes that surround Downs Syndrome to make people realise that it isn’t as bad as what people think. 

I started playing around with the logo to see if adding text over my original design made it look more professional and interesting. Because i am trying to keep that handmade feel, i felt that adding text over the top would give the logo an edge.

Although the first one didn’t work as well as id hoped it would, the second one in my opinion looks great. It reminds me of something but i cant quite put my finger on it...

Now that its came around i can explain what the three chevron symbol actually stands for. There is more than one meaning behind the tattoo design. the first and my favourite is that it is the back end of an arrow to symbolise that when life pulls you back you can only travel forwards. The second is that Downs Syndrome is the third copy of Chromosome 21, which is why there are three chevrons.

My parents, and Max’s got their tattoos on opposite arms so that when they hold hands they are on show next to each other.

one of my ideas was to make badges, because i feel like they will be more popular for people to wear because they are relatively cheap to make so i could maybe give them away for free or sell them for a really low price.

With the badges, i felt like i should keep them quite simple because you don’t want to try fit on as much as you can onto a few centimetres because it will look crowded and people wont want to wear them. For now i have used the logo designs that i have made, as they worked really effectively on the t-shirts so i thought they may have the same effect here.

On my instagram I follow a lot of artist pages and celebrities which I sometimes find inspiration from.

Although not related to my project currently, I feel like I may experiment with this style in the future as I am planning on doing a few portraits to go on my website and my products. I feel like this would be really interesting to try and interpret this style in my own way maybe to express feeling downs people have and then the feelings people have towards downs.

with the logos that i have created, i did some quick experimenting with how they would look on t-shirts.

I’d say that my favourite are the first, third and fourth because they are attractive colours and they are still very effective. I think that the second one would look better with a black background because of the colours that i have used for the logo.

The world logo definitely looks better on a black t-shirt, it makes the logo really stand out. it also looks quite attractive and fits in with todays trends of wearing logo t-shirts, oversized jeans and trainers.
