The Boy Lost in Time

“Hello?” A voice called upon entering the hub at Torchwood 3, silvery eyes focused upon the huge surroundings and weirdly decorated walls. What the hell was this place?

“Hello?”

The young man called again, only this time a little louder.

“Sorry the door was left open and I seem to have gotten a little lost, I’m trying to find my way to the local police station. Anybody in here who could help?”

Jack got up from his desk, ready to be slightly annoyed and perhaps overly tricksy with the newcomer, but he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw him. His son. Considerably grown since Jack had last seen him, but he’d know those eyes anywhere.

Was the immediate response that came from the younger man as he looked towards the direction of the voice, immediatly frowning upon seeing the unfamiliar face. Who the hell was this and how did he know his name? Still, if he could help him, that's all that mattered, right?

“Sorry, I — how do you know my name?”

“Well… I suppose that depends on how you want to work, Grey.”

What a word to talk about, don’t you think?“ He hissed, reminding him off the times that he hadn’t.

The way that Gray rounds on him like that, so suddenly and so forcefully, takes him aback. They’d been getting along so well lately, but it was inevitable to have setbacks like this. Not that it made it hurt any less.
