The Alternative route au is a Scum Villain AU I am currently writing. The plot is that Shen Yuan gets tasked by the system to fix the one problem the SVSSS!Shen Yuan couldn't, being to help Shen Jiu. Shen Yuan gets sent to PIDW four years before Luo Binghe enters Cang Qiong Mountain Sect and is put in a duplicate body of Shen Jiu. It is his role to help Shen Jiu find better coping mechanisms and become a better and more likeable person. It is also the System trying to see if Shen Jiu can even be helped, so Shen Yuan is given much more help and freedom than in SVSSS.

The main focus of the AU is the bond between Shen Yuan and Shen Jiu, and how they find an equal ground between them and eventually come to see their lie of being brothers as more than just a lie. The other major relationships are the main ship, QiJiu, which is Shen Yuan's main focus in trying to get Shen Jiu to a stage where he has healed, and later on Bingqiu, which takes place 5 years after the first part of the story, but is overall still very important to the au. Add in a few more ships I ship (MoShang, QiWei, ZhuLiu) that might appear on various levels.

As I said before, there are 2 parts to this story, one before Canon and one after all the changes have been set in stone. Part 1 is much more planned, but I plan to build upon part 2 more.
