I graduated on Friday and it's an amazing feeling to be done..again. I don't really recall my undergraduate ceremony at all, other than it being long, but I'll remember this one for sure. It just felt different. ——————————————— The speakers this time were great and inspirational, and it was an all around great, well put together ceremony. If you came out to support, I genuinely appreciate you. An even greater time was had at the dinner afterwards. Unfortunately, we didn't reserve enough space, but we made it work for all that came out. ——————————————— New levels bring new devils, but I'm making sure I'm prepared for the next steps as best as I can. Life isn't easy, not even for a college graduate. In some ways, it's a bit more trying, but I've never been one to give in to adversity. ——————————————— I've been in corporate America for right at 4 years, and there are some things that don't sit right with my soul to be quite honest. No need in crying over spilled milk though. Life throws the same curves at you, so there is no sense in giving up and surrendering to your emotions. Understanding of cultures, diversity, unfair workplace procedures, etc are just a few of the day to day struggles...To not have to endure these things forever as I work my way up the success ladder, I know exactly what I need to do. This MBA was just the start. ——————————————— Here's to 2017 being an amazing year for me filled with growth, wisdom, and understanding, and to 2018 and beyond being even more amazing and prosperous. Birthday Mood: 30 and I feel like I'm 18. My life is crazy right now, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. For me, the worst thing I can be is average. This motivates me. I'm going to keep knocking down these goals until I'm where're I want to be, and keep creating more as I grow through this life. The 20's were definitely practice. I've been blessed with a lot early in terms of family, friends, maturity, wisdom, understanding, the yearning for knowledge and clear vision. This is what drives me. The older I get, the less materialistic items fulfill me. I have every single thing that I could possibly want outside of a Rolex. This has led me down a whole new journey of searching and finding. I live life on my own terms and by my own rules. I keep negative energy and people at a distance that doesn't infiltrate my mind. I am in a great space for my 30th year on earth and I'm quite excited to see what my 30's have for me. Happy Birthday to myself. As Jay-Z said once, men lie, women lie, numbers don't. The graduates are your peers.If you're deciding against college for a not so good reason you are in for some stiff competition. Most younger students don't have a real plan, just dreams of being rich and famous. Welp, while you're busy getting rich and famous, get your degree. I have nothing against dreams, as I have many dreams as well, but you have to be calculated and strategic in how you chase after them. Be smart. College is giving many a hand up on other applicants. To be honest, it's just a piece of paper, but that piece of paper is like allowing you entrance into one of the hardest clubs to enter, corporate America. You can do it.
