but this is the british were talking about, and when we’re not busy colonising the world, we’re reclaiming insults into cute little things to call your kids when they’re being silly. so in the modern day you’d be more likely to hear bugger used as a light ribbing like ‘oh you’re such a cheeky bugger’ when your friend does something stupid.

If I could improve anything about that system, I'd take it even further and make it so kids could see a doctor and get meds, treatments, therapy, tests, disability aids etc. without having to rely on their parents as well. I shouldn't have had to put up with being bullied and guilt-tripped about the family finances and the time investment needed to take me to the optometrist every time I needed new glasses.

So I have to wonder: what did they actually contribute to our upbringing? Like they didn't teach us shit and mostly they just endangered our mental and physical health — but hey, at least they gave me cPTSD! That took some work too.

Assume some parents will fail. Build social infrastructure that is designed to support failed kids rather than punish would-be parents.

The best thing is to support the children and give them the tools they need to succeed even if the parents are already giving them those tools. Because you can never learn something too much.

A lot of people have already talked about how misogynistic it is and they're completely right. But another thing that really annoys me about this movie is how badly they've written Jigsaw in this. Like every jigsaw tape in 7 is so extremely out of character. He would not say "she is toxic" or "you and your friends are all racist" he doesn't speak like that. This is jigsaw. He'd say some shit like "you and those around you judge others based on something that is out of their control. But now you will be the ones being judged". Like watch Saw 4 and you can see how Jigsaw never actually calls Ivan a rapist. He uses other words to say that. And it is kind of a small thing and Saw 7 definitely wouldn't be a good movie if the jigsaw tapes were accurate. But I think it'd be at least slightly less frustrating to watch. Like jigsaw is the central character of the movies, how do you fuck him up so badly in the SEVENTH movie when you did just fine in the first six times.
