iām Oakley (or Bucket if youād like) and i use he/him
iām kinda just a dude on here
i sometimes reblog jrwi and hermitcraft stuff but iāll be honest do not look forward to that too much iām mostly here just to hang out with my friends lol
so anyway, stay if youād like, honestly i donāt really care, unless youāre a cool mutual in law in which case i am super cool and awesome and you should totally follow me back :]]
tagging system under the cut
now that iām thinking about it itās atrocious but i donāt really care enough to fix it unprompted so if you do care feel free to send me an ask about it (anon is always there if you need it)
#shouting into the void - id like to say this is my text tag but i really just use this whenever i make a post and it doesnāt contain art or an ask. under this youāll find pretty much any kind of post under the sun as well as some pretty good shit posts buried under other not so good shit post
#showing the void my art - this would be my art tag, if i ever used it. please picture it covered in cob webs. under here are some of my doodles and now that iām thinking about it i could probably tag my knitting progress under this as well
#the void talks back - this is my ask tag. under here is pretty much a bunch of me hanging out with my friends on here
and now for my less official tags that you still might want to know
#butter buddies - this is the tag for the world of my two ocs i like doodling, peanut butter (or sweet pea) and buttercup, who both have their own tags as well! #peanut butter (oc) and #buttercup (oc)
#red dungeon - i play in a dnd campaign with a couple people on here. this is a communal tag for the campaign, so not just an original thing for me. not everything related to the campaign is tagged under this, itās really just some more recent official posts
and speaking ofā¦
#radio doe - this is my character for said campaign. like the other tag thereās not a whole lot under this but itās there if youād like to see it. also feel free to ask me about her or the campaign, iād love to talk about it
um i also have another oc tagged with the āunwitness protection programā if youād like to go hunt for that but itās really not properly tagged with anything

Whenever people bleat and whine about the āinvisibilityā of trans men, I think about Heated Rivalry. The biggest show of the year had a trans man, Harrison Browne, cast in a prominent role where he appeared in multiple episodes and had a good handful of lines. Following the show he had a bunch of articles written about his role and the importance of trans inclusion, including one on CNN.
Heated Rivalry also features a trans actress. In one scene, in one episode, the one where Rose is getting her makeup done on set. The actressās name is Miss Niki Nikita, her character is not given a name. She is given one line, with only one word: āSame.ā Trying to track down the name of this actress requires you to dig through the guts of Google search results, and still the main thing that comes up is a reddit post where someone credits her. (Googling āheated rivalry trans womanā still just returns results on Harrison Browne.)
When you say ātrans men are invisibleā do you just mean that online spaces are constantly trying to raise awareness for the violence trans women face? Because from where Iām standing, trans men get to experience the joy and the limelight while trans women get the violence and the vitriol. But sure, I guess theyāre ātoo visible.ā
"visibility" is one of those terms in trans discourse that truly means nothing. an absolute specter of privilege with no concrete meaning or derivation from material conditions. trans women are deemed to either be "hypervisible" or "invisible" on a whim, this status implicitly posited as the basis of our oppression, in order to create a counter-transmisogyny, a transandrophobia, founded in opposition to whatever the supposed visibility of trans women is. is the trans woman invisible to the masses, the poor trans man bearing the brunt of society's transphobic attitudes & legislature? is the trans woman hypervisible, hogging the limelight in pop culture, the media, the press? who can say! the visibility of trans women is whatever you need it to be, to pretend it's harder to live leveraging transmisogyny rather than being crushed under its thumb. disgusting nonsense word.

family still misgenders me sometimes and my little brother has friends over and i donāt think he genders me right when heās with them and when i saw my ex friend for a second she was very sure to deadname me and everyone in my class knows im a transgender now and the family with a ālove is loveā sign outside apparently didnāt get the memo enough to explain that im a boy to their son and the account i have to do all my introduction assignments on still has my deadname on there and im hating the person i see in the mirror and nothing i do seems to get rid of that completely and i canāt get myself to call my doctor about my t referral and im worried hrt wouldnāt even do what i need and maybe it would all be easier if i would just stop trying to be a boy
gender envy usually gets used as a positive to neutral expression but there sure is an evil form of gender envy if you've been in the depths of dysphoria. i have a friend whos talked about hearing news stories of kim petras in highschool and being so jealous it made her angry. i've struggled talking to online friends who got on HRT faster due to their countries better healthcare because obviously i'm happy for them but like. man. ya know its not healthy but if you've been there? you get it. ohhhh you get it.

I tell a woman with a 9 to 5 office job about the slightly niche speculative fiction novel I just finished and she goes "Oh, that's...interesting. I hadn't heard of that."
I tell a grungy chick I met at a dive bar about the same book and she kinda scoffs and goes "Okay" like I said my favorite show is Sesame Street
