LET ME FURTHER ELABORATE ON THE HILARITY OF THE BEST AMERICAN POLITICAL PRACTICE TO EXIST, “THE ANNUAL RUNNING OF THE INTERNS”: 

RECORDINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE U.S. SUPREME COURT. SO WHEN A DECISION IS MADE, COPIES ARE HANDED TO MEMBERS OF THE PRESS INSIDE THE BUILDING IN A PRESS ROOM WHO THEN LEAVE THEIR ROOM TO HAND THE COPIES OF THE RULING TO THEIR INTERNS (WHO AREN’T ALLOWED INSIDE THE PRESS ROOM)

AND THEN THE INTERNS HAVE TO DELIVER THE COURT RULINGS WHILE THE JUSTICES ARE ANNOUNCING THEIR DECISION INSIDE THE COURTROOM ITSELF. 

SO THE INTERNS RUN THROUGH THE SUPREME COURT BUILDING FROM OUTSIDE THE PRESS ROOM TO OUTSIDE, ACROSS THE PAVED WALKWAYS, AND DOWN THE STAIRS OF THE COURTHOUSE AREA INTO THE BROADCASTING PRESS PEN IN THE STREET.

Last night, she walked back into my ER and asked for me by name. I came outside and she gave me the biggest hug and we talked for a while.

And more importantly, what did she do between Order 66 and becoming Fulcrum

I don’t need much between becoming Fulcrum and her appearance in Rebels, most of that can be inferred

But seriously I need a comic series or a novel trilogy or something with Ahsoka just dealing with life. You could cover so much with that. Ahsoka just trying to get by in everyday life, keeping her lightsabers hidden away, maybe even outright getting rid of them (explaining why she has new ones in Rebels), and it could take us from an awkward 19-year-old Ahsoka with her own apartment, a pair of blasters, and a list of odd jobs she takes so she can put food on her table, to a 24-year-old Ahsoka who’s accidentally made a name for herself while trying to lay low, getting involved in resistance movements because she can’t help but let her heart of gold shine through, all the way to her somehow acquiring her white saber crystals and constructing new lightsabers to give the early rebels hope, as well as taking on the Fulcrum persona after seeing the true horrors of the Empire and deciding to make a difference in the galaxy.

There’s so much untapped potential in both Ahsoka as a character and for this entire time frame, and you could do so much with it. It gives you the perfect opportunity for:

slice of life (Ahsoka in her apartment, making ends meet, trying to fix appliances, giving in and using the Force to do so when she’s previously sworn it off, etc.)

team-ups with other characters (reuniting with Asajj is about as cool as you can possibly get)

those really grand moments where a character is forced to stop hiding what they really are and instead harness it (like I said, swearing off using the Force, getting rid of her lightsabers, etc. – but then needing to reclaim her Jedi persona and reconnect with who she once was in order to save people she grows to care about)

establishing contact with Obi-Wan and explaining why they stay apart, without divulging the existence of Luke (give them a strong, meaningful final moment with each other before parting ways for good)

showing the way the Empire affects normal civilians (the good and the bad), as well as showing Ahsoka’s inability to force herself to be complacent and stay out of trouble (because if there’s ANYTHING we know about Ahsoka, it’s that she can’t stay out of trouble, and it would be really fun and endearing to see her trying to stay hidden, but struggling against her own nature of wanting to help those who otherwise can’t help themselves)

exploring Ahsoka as an individual (struggling with friendships, as well as relationships – I’d really like to see Ahsoka’s romantic pursuits, and how that would fit in with the other aspects of her life)

and SO MUCH MORE

Honestly this is what I’d want the very first canon SW novel trilogy to be, because there’s so much you could do with it that I don’t think it would fit in a comic series unless it ran EXTREMELY long, and I definitely don’t think it could fit in one novel. Ahsoka is super interesting, and she’d be a really engaging vehicle for a huge amount of story and lore, being a young adult in the Star Wars universe who isn’t currently on some grand quest, but still having baggage specifically related to those larger elements of the universe. She’s got this perfect setup to explore the Star Wars universe from just about every possible angle, from a lowly commoner struggling to make ends meet, all the way up to a goddamn galactic hero. You could have the first novel end with her finally making the decision to destroy her lightsabers while struggling to allow herself to lay low (after an incident specifically involving them, resulting her needing to drop everything, and all the progress she made at reestablishing herself after Order 66), only to finally construct new sabers by the climax of the third novel.
