Iâve got quite a vivid imagination and Iâm easily overwhelmed by sensations and things that are beautiful or scary. I donât think Iâve ever seen a ghost - I think Iâm probably haunted by my own ghosts than real ones.

I donât know what I want or donât want. Iâve stopped wanting, stopped knowing how to want, stopped knowing the emotions or thoughts by which people generally recognize that they want something or want to want it. I donât know who I am or what I am. Like someone buried under a collapsed wall, I lie under the toppled vacuity of the entire universe.
Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet
I understand the usefulness of labels. You know, you can sort of stereotype people, but⌠itâs when it stops people from getting to know the individual behind those labels and how perhaps they shiftâŚyou know, the idiosyncrasies and how people donât fit their own label and thatâs where the really interesting individuals come out. And I think labels stop that, stop people from being curious about people who are different and they can tend to foster hostility and contempt for people who are different.

âSome people survive and talk about it. Some people survive and go silent. Some people survive and create. Everyone deals with unimaginable pain in their own way, and everyone is entitled to that, without judgement. So the next time you look at someoneâs life covetously, rememberâŚyou may not want to endure what they are enduring right now, at this moment, whilst they sit so quietly before you, looking like a calm ocean on a sunny day. Remember how vast the oceanâs boundaries are. Whilst somewhere the water is calm, in another place in the very same ocean, there is a colossal storm.â â @nikita_gill, People Survive in Different Ways đ artwork by @shotamaehara

âBad news: a lot can change in a year. Good news: a lot can change in a year.â â@terezawolf đŤ artwork by @indg0
take some time to reflect on how much youâve grown over the last few months, in any way, whether you started going to therapy, got a new job, gained new interests, finished your exams, started journaling, or even became more empathetic towards yourself. remind yourself that growth is always there, and that it doesnât need to be incredibly life-changing to hold significance. you are growing in every way; and these events often lead to very bright things.
Less thinking and more sleeping would be cool đ
Why are you so scared?â he asked. âBecause,â I say, âbecause you could leave at any moment and there isnât a single thing I can do about it.â

âŚbecause people who talk about their dreams are actually trying to tell you things about themselves theyâd never admit in normal conversation. Itâs a way for people to be honest without telling the truth.

Tom Perrotta, The Abstinence Teacher
âI donât think Iâm going to miss eighth grade.  Itâs been a tough year.  A lot of my friends are struggling with depression and self-harm, and itâs hard for me to watch.  I just care about them so much.  Growing up is so hard for some people.  Itâs such a big thing.  Itâs your foundation, I guess.  Youâre becoming you.  Itâs such a big thing and weâre going through it right now.  Some of my friendâŚs are struggling with loving themselves and loving life.  I think they forget that weâre still learning.  They think that theyâre already who theyâre going to be.  They think they know the future.  And itâs going to be horrible.  And theyâll never be able to fix it.  But thatâs not true because weâre still changing.  And weâll always be changing.  Even when weâre old, weâll be changing.â
The real glo up is when you stop waiting to turn into some perfect hypothetical version of yourself and consciously enjoy being who you are in the present moment.
I laugh harder with you. I feel more myself with you. I trust you with meâthe real me. When something goes wrong, or right, or I hear a funny joke, or I see something bizarre, youâre the first person I want to talk to about it.

You know whats fucking scary? The fact that I could literally change my life at any moment. I could stop talking to everyone that makes me unhappy. I could kiss whoever i want. I could shave my head or get on a plane or take my own life. Nothing is stopping me. The entire world is in my hands, and I have no idea what to do with it.
