idk some people just feel threatened by anyone being unapologetically themselves even when they aren’t hurting anyone because it brings up the possibility that the rules are made up and the points don’t matter and that’s an uncomfortable thought

Things aren’t based on attendance; they’re based on relationships. You go to an event and you don’t know anyone, no one can vouch for you, and you meet two people and have surface-level conversations. Great, people can say that they’ve met you or you’ve introduced yourself to them or whatever. You go to numerous events, build connections with people, build relationships off of those connections, and all of a sudden you have a wide social network filled with people who know you and would happily vouch for you.
It’s why I keep saying that strategy matters. If you’re going to the ballet just to be seen at the ballet, why? If you don’t enjoy it, aren’t involved in a group that promotes it, and are only attending because you think people will see you and automatically think you’re “classy” or “high value”, you’re wasting your time. If you’re not an actively involved member of your city’s young professionals clubs and social groups; looking for ways to meet people and mingle; and focused on building a network and a community, you’re wasting your potential. Nothing gets done by sitting around and hoping to be seen. You have to actively and sometimes aggressively pursue things to see results.
You also have to be able and willing to build decent relationships with people; not every relationship needs to be a close one, but it’s better to be on polite terms with everyone and be comfortable speaking to them than to isolate yourself in the hopes you’ll seem more exclusive. You don’t need to spend hours divulging your deepest darkest secrets to strangers but at the same time, if you expect to give nothing of importance to anyone but request their undivided attention, you’re going to be left disappointed. Meet people, make connections, make plans, and make an effort to follow through; if you’re young, now’s the time to get into the habit of getting involved without dissuading yourself from doing so, following up with people after you’ve met them, and engaging in different types of activities.
i haven’t been real for a few days thinking about becoming real again soon though
I cannot overstate how important it is for women to possess things, whether material or immaterial. Let it be your favorite dress, bottles of perfume, a piece of jewelry, linen bedsheets, books, knowledge, degrees, work experience, connections, hobbies, a secret garden that belong to you alone.
Build a life that is unmistakably yours. Form your identity. Explore and refine your taste. Know what moves you, what inspires you. Be your own muse, go to shopping malls and smell new perfumes/try the clothes on instead of getting your inspiration online. A woman without a strong sense of identity risks losing herself in this world.
I remember my mother once saying that she had "nothing." That sentence has stayed with me. Many women were robbed of their identity whether by marrying the wrong man or by being reduced solely to the roles of wife and mother. They were never truly given the opportunity to explore their womanhood in all its depth.
If you are feeling lost in your womanhood, just start to cultivate your taste. Read foreign literature. Treat yourself according to your budget (for instance try to understand what you really enjoy in fashion and you really don’t need to buy anything ) . Explore new hobbies. Invest in your education and your future. If your circumstances allow try new occupations, develop new skills, travel, create, remain curious.

Realizing nothing can fill my void other than doing everything I said I would do for myself
