Hello! One of my friends in real life was begging me to finish this and post it, haha. When I posted the original sneak peek it was already halfway done but I would’ve never had the confidence to post if not for my friend. So, thank you to them and I hope you like it! Personally this isn’t my favorite thing I’ve ever written but I tried and it is my first piece of fan fiction. Corrections on my English are welcome! P.S. thank you to my friend for making this very very pretty mood board :)

Blueberry, blackberry, and the delicious smell of vanilla clogged up his nose at the time. It really took effort for him not to shove his face into Michael’s neck and inhale. He knows that’s wildly inappropriate and that Michael would’ve hated that with a passion.

It took Michael a bit to come out of his shell, especially considering he’s still somewhat in it. It’s okay, though; it's just made Kylian treasure his now-common smile. He still longs to suffocate in that delicious smell, biting and nipping at Michael’s mating bite while taking deep breaths and getting drunk off the smell of his omega. Kylian has come to terms with the fact that Michael does not really see him that way and never will, and he’s made his peace with it.

The point is that- after they lose to Spain and head to a bar where Michael starts smelling too much alcohol and other alphas, Kylian knows it’s time to take him back to their hotel room.

It takes a lot of stumbling and random mumbled incoherent words from Michael before they reach their shared hotel room. Kylian lays Michael on the bed and makes sure to put a glass of water and some medicine on his side table, leaving for his own bed right next to Michael’s after taking some time to stare at his sleeping face.

Kylian tosses and turns in his own too-soft bed before a strange, loud rumble fills the room. At first, Kylian thinks it’s construction on the next building over, honestly, until he turns to stare at Michael again and realizes it’s coming from him. Michael.

Michael’s purring.

Kylian’s not stupid; he knows it’s a part of omega biology. Omegas purr when they’re happy or trying to soothe- and some purr more leniently than others. Some omegas may only purr around their friends and family, while others may purr around a barista they’ve just started talking to. Kylian doesn’t really know where Michael’s leniency is when purring, since he hasn’t before.

Kylian is amazed. He grew up around no omegas, and none of his friends had ever purred around him, let alone in public. Even with Michael asleep, it feels so special to hear him so relaxed. His thoughts betray him as he wishes he could curl up around Michael, feel the purring chest to chest and let Michael know he’s loved.

Except these are all stupid, irrational thoughts. Michael is not his and will never be. They’re friends. He’s just having a good dream, probably of family back home. Kylian finds solace in the fact that at least Michael feels safe enough to purr while they’re in the same room.

Eventually, Kylian falls asleep to the vibrations of Michael purring.
