Aaron Tilley is a still life photographer, whose conceptual and sophisticated styles attract a variety of British and international clients. His surrealistic images create both fascination and tension in some. His “In Anxious Anticipation” series is a favorite of mine in which those photos create a feeling that something is about to happen but it hasn’t yet. Adam Elmakias is an American photographer from Madison, WI. Elmakias’ work is mainly made up of portraits, concerts, festivals and behind the scenes in general. While he mainly works in black and white, his color photos really show his talent and how he waits for a perfect moment. His color images show that while there’s a lot going on in the frame, the colors are vibrant and the details in the crowd and around are amazing.                       © Adam Elmakias 

Alfred Eisenstaedt was a German-born American photographer and photojournalist. Born in Poland, Alfred went to study at the University of Berlin and served in the German army during World War I. After the war, Eisenstaedt taught himself photography and worked as a freelance photojournalist while working as a button and belt salesman in Berlin. From 1929-1935 he worked as a full-time photojournalist for the Pacific and Atlantic Picture Agency then later part of the Associated Press. Alfred was also a generalist who was adored by editors for his quick eye and his ability in making good photographs of any situation or event.                         © Alfred Eisenstaedt

Alfred Stieglitz was an American photographer and modern art promoter who was adamant about proving that photography was a medium that was capable of artistic expressions such as painting or sculpture. Stieglitz was the editor of Camera Notes, the journal of the Camera Club of New York, and would feature photographers who shared his opinion over photography having aesthetic potential. But soon after, Alfred and other like-minded photographers left to form the Photo-Secession. Stieglitz was also known for running the New York art galleries in the early part of the 20th century where he introduced many avant-garde European artists to the U.S. © Alfred Stieglitz

Andy Warhol was an American artist, director, and producer who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. Andy graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1949. He has artwork shown in 5 museums including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Warhol has 3 movies and was frequently winning awards for his uniquely whimsical style using his own blotted line technique and rubber stamps to create his drawings.             © Andy Warhol

Based in Potsdam, Germany, Andreas Levers photography style brings nostalgic feelings and bright colors in his “At Night” and “The Modern World”. “At Night” showcases nighttime scenes that are foggy with bright lights filling parts of the frame, pulling the objects in them out of the fog while also adding more mysterious feelings. “The Modern World” shows bright colored buildings and all though simpler than the latter series, holds a different feeling. These images are exciting and fun while still being modernistic, hence the series title. © Andreas Levers

Anna-Lou “Annie” Leibovitz is an American portrait photographer. She has photographed people like Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie, Alan Rickman, Johnny Depp and she even photographed John Lennon the day he was assassinated. Annie graduated from San Francisco Art Institute. She also became the first woman to hold an exhibition at Washington’s National Portrait Gallery in 1991. Leibovitz is thoroughly influenced by Richard Avedon and his “personal reportage”, developing a close rapport with her subjects. © Annie Leibovitz

Ansel Easton Adams is an American photographer and environmentalist who photographs black-and-white landscapes of the American West such as Yosemite National Park. His images have been widely reproduced on calendars, posters, books, and the internet. Ansel creates beautiful images of nature that I feel showcase it in different aspects of being in black and white. By converting it, he is giving the images a deeper meaning that makes you feel like you’re in the image enjoying that part of nature.               © Ansel Adams

Ashley Osborn is based in Los Angeles with a passion for music, documentary, and lifestyle photography. Her images of mainly bands and artist at concerts and festivals express a lot of movement and emotion in each photo. She has some black and white images and color ones which I love as they really expand the image and its content. © Ashley Osborn

Banksy is an anonymous England-based graffiti artist, political activist, and film director. He displays his political artworks around London conveying his take on society and how he sees it. His artwork is mainly sprayed paint and stencils which I just love in the fact that it's handsome and handmade. Banksy is very known for his pieces and ones that are my favorites are “Balloon girl,” “Flower Thrower,” and his “Dismaland” which was a temporary art project set up on August 21, 2015, and closed in September 27,2015. An aspect I love of Banksy’s artwork is that he is trying to show the world what the world is like through art in a different way that makes you think and is a little bit different. © Banksy 

Ben Zank is a New York-based photographer who takes surreal portraits that explore human isolation and connection with nature. His images most often include lines, geometry, colors, the human body, and suspense. His photos show emotion through the image itself instead of a simple expression within the figures face. I feel his photographs are quite unique in style and present us with another take on emotions in how they are not always full frontal on the surface. While his works can be confusing, I love how they are different and creative in composition and content.                         © Ben Zank

Christian Hopkins is a photographer based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania whose images are surreal self-portraits. His series about his struggle with depression is fascinating with images capturing his struggle and what he endured. While they’re creepy, they hold a deeper meaning which I feel other people who have depression can connect with. His photographing style is interesting as the photos are of himself but don’t always show him.  © Christian Hopkins

Christopher McKenney is a conceptual artist from Pennsylvania who specializes in horror surrealistic photography. His photos, while creepy, show a sort of otherworldly side of things. His pictures show different perspectives and almost chaos within people. Almost every picture of his that include “human” figures have their faces covered either with cloth, bags, mirrors, or masks. The covering of the face, to me, makes a lot of the pictures more horror-like and adds that element of creepiness.                  © Christopher McKenney

Damon Baker is a UK-native who first started in 2008. His photos are mainly black and white and portrait style. Damon photographs celebrities like Cole Sprouse which has been more recent, Brooklyn Beckham, Rita Ora, Bella Thorne, and Cameron Dallas. While his images are black and white they are very vibrant with emotion and expressive.                              © Damon Baker

Dan Saelinger, based out of Portland, OR has a photography style that is absolutely beautiful and fun with his bright colors and whimsical content. His images include motion, still life, people, food, and technology. He also takes photos for advertising such as Target, Kindle, Bacardi, Skittles, and Amazon. Apart from advertising images, he has his own projects which these photos are apart of. © Dan Saelinger

Daniel Sannwald was born in Germany in 1979 and has been said to be emerging as one of the truly original voices in contemporary photography. Daniels images to me seem like a mix of contemporary and fashion photography. They are colorful and interesting while being simple at the same time. Some of his photographs are more extra than others in the fact of content but all of them create great dynamics with colors and lines.             © Daniel Sannwald

Diane Arbus was an American photographer who was known for taking intimate black-and-white portraits of individuals who often lived on the fringes of society such as, dwarfs, giants, transgender people, nudists, circus performers, the mentally ill and others whose normality was perceived by the general public as ugly or surreal. Her images showcase these people as themselves and to show the world that they aren’t any different than someone who is considered ‘normal’. Arbus became the first American photographer to have her photographs displayed at the Venice Biennale in 1972, a year after she committed suicide. Diane died at the age of 48 and was said to be experiencing “depressive episodes” like her mother and having “violent changes of mood” by her husband.                   © Diane Arbus
