Gluten-Free Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Scones

Gluten-free scones are a trick. They absolutely don’t taste like the real thing–ever. No recipe I’ve tried has been as flakey and buttery as the real thing.

BUT that doesn’t mean I stop trying to find a “perfect” gluten-free scone.

Half the time, that means I indulge in the real thing, while the other half, that means I pull out thirty ingredients to make something I could make with about five.…

So…I have a confession to make. 

I cheated on this recipe. 

In a couple of ways, actually. Allow me to explain. 

1. I didn’t come up with this flavor combination on my own. 

2. I used an existing recipe and adapted it to a scone recipe.

3. I used my new Vitamix. (While perhaps not technically cheating, it feels like cheating because I’m used to fighting with my blender to actually blend anything…

Maple and pecans. Sweet and nutty. 

It’s kinda like a cinnamon roll, but then, not really. Not at all, actually.

But it’s a popular flavor, nonetheless. 

As someone who doesn’t really care for nuts, especially of the softer variety, I don’t tend to get excited about baked goods with nuts in them. (The one exception for me is almond. Because, well, almonds.)
