In my opinion, Allan Hawco (above as character Jake Doyle), is pretty easy on the eyes. Imagine my excitement when we received a note in our mailbox saying they would be filming the opening episode of season 4 on our street! We needed to move our car so they could block the road for a scene where an Irish driver/criminal, was driving on the wrong side and almost hits several cars. How do I know this? The location manager left his card on our door and said we should call him.

Allan & Gordon Pinsent (July 12 2020)
Totally practical - and totally uncool
Published February 10, 2010
Allan Hawco is one of Canada's hottest young actors. He plays Jake Doyle, a cool, suave, romantic rogue and private investigator, on CBC's new series, Republic of Doyle. On TV, his ride is a retro muscle car, a 1968 Pontiac GTO. In real life, Hawco drives a more practical vehicle around the Rock: a 2010 Toyota Tacoma truck (luckily, not one of the vehicles recalled for a faulty gas pedal).

TCT takes it in stages
(Sep 04 2010)
The late Tarragon founder Bill Glassco acted as a mentor to Hawco when the latter was a theatre pup, and told a story that has stuck with the actor about closing Tarragon for a year in 1975 when it wasn't running up to snuff.
