So why didn’t I realize until now that “unguibus et rostro” doesn’t just translate literally to “claws and beak”

blue owns a coffee shop, “blue moon”, and gansey always comes in RIGHT at closing time because he doesn’t sleep so he just fills up on caffeine to make it through the night and blue HATES HIM because he single-handedly holds her and her employees up to cater to his needs. but adam would hate her if she insisted on closing because he (grudgingly) needs gansey’s obscene tips and noah just likes to watch blue rip gansey apart

then one night gansey drags ronan in and flings him at the counter, frantically calling for a towel because ronan is bleeding all over the place and “ronan, for god’s sake, try and save yourself some blood you’re making a mess of this fine establishment”. blue’s gang proceeds to watch in horrified awe as gansey chews out this stranger for “recklessly endangering yourself, ronan - worse,  recklessly endangering anyone else on the street who gets caught in the crossfire of you and that dirtbag kavinsky” 

and blue takes notice because this gansey is kinda hot? like, usually, he just humbly takes her lectures, but here he is lecturing and it’s… nice. 

noah leans over the counter to poke at ronan’s wounds and laughs when ronan slaps him away. adam just kinda blithely comments on fast cars and compensating. ronan takes offense and starts to spit an insult but then gets a good look at adam and chokes on it. and then he gets even more angry because who even is this ethereal asshole, and he picks a fight. then he orders a drink. then he tips a hundred bucks and tells adam he makes the shittiest cup of coffee he’s ever had. adam thinks this is some passive aggressive way of asserting his wealth and categorically insults every piece of ronan from his shaved head to his deliberately distressed shabby-chic clothes.
