The hot water is almost scalding his skin. He's red all over. Even without the heat from the water, Max would be burning up. It's inside of him — burning his insides and clawing at his skin wanting to get out, out, out.
His hand is on his dick and he's panting. He's hard as nails. Jerking himself off almost furiously, a maniacal laughter slipping from his lips. He's not thinking about her. He's not imagining her. It feels so good to have his mind be fully blank — nothing going on there except for the sensation of water on his back and his hand on his dick pulling, pulling.
When he comes, he almost starts giggling.
He didn't think about her. About their night together. About her taste on his tongue, about her soft little whimpers, about her cunt around him, about her lips around his cock. He didn't think about her — he's cured.

Max knows all this, and up until a few weeks ago, he hadn't cared. He didn't have a crush on Lewis, wasn't like some of the more starry-eyed drivers around her. He was there to drive, to do his thing, and to win championships. Which is all great, cause it's exactly what he's doing right now. Lewis had just taken over his lead after Russia, but he got it back after Turkey, which almost felt like him getting back at her for their night together.
She'd been amazing, she'd been beautiful, she'd been hot, she'd been his best lay he's ever had in his life. After which he hadn't been able to stop thinking about her, hearing her say his name and thinking about the time she moaned that. It'd been torture, being so close to her and wanting nothing more but to bend her over and eat her out, but knowing deep in his bones that he'd had his one time and there wouldn't be another. Certainly not if he initiated — she's in charge, not him. So having won Turkey after she took his lead in Russia felt like regaining control of things, for him. He was not letting their one night affect his best season ever, his chance at the championship. No matter how much he still thought about her, this is his year and he is not getting distracted.
Things are looking up.
And now they're in the United States of America, at COTA, and Max is gearing up for another race win to extend his lead. Who knows, maybe by Brazil he'll have this thing in the bag, although he doesn't expect Lewis or Mercedes to make it easy for him.
There was a brief moment, when Lewis had been over at his hotel room, where he considered her fucking him to be a distraction method related to the whole championship fight. He'd had a flare of anger in him at the thought, the realisation. And while maybe there was some aspect of truth in it, he also knew, rationally, that Lewis doesn't do repeats. Which would make the notion of her sleeping over just once so much more layered than it had any space to be — she wouldn't have been able to learn anything special from anything in his hotel room, she slept over after the race, and she hadn't initiated any contact since their night together, which was weeks ago. Nothing had been notably different between them in Turkey either — except, of course, if one would count the various thoughts that had passed Max's mind everytime Lewis had passed him or whenever he got distracted by the memories of their time together. So he dismissed that notion and let go of the anger attached to it. However, that just left a sense of bitterness in his mouth — knowing what he wants, knowing what he wants more of, and being unable to get it. Fuck, his night with Lewis was possibly the best sex he's ever had in his life. He'd woken up so refreshed and wanting more, and then she gave him more, and then she left and now he still wants more. It took one night together to turn him into an addict.
But no more — he's jerked off without thinking about her, so he's cured now. With a slight jump in his step — not big enough to make people think he's in a golly good mood, but just big enough for people to link it to his most recent race win and championship prospect — he walks onto the paddock in COTA.
Seeing several cowboy hats all around him is like cold water to his face — he fucking hates the dress-up game that this track has become.
Max had arrived late to the paddock, so most other drivers had already arrived. He hears about it through chatter of his co-workers — Daniel in cowboy cosplay, Mick with a hat… And look, Max isn't some grumpy old guy who rejects silly things. If the social media managers want him to wear a cowboy hat for a video, he will. He just won't show up in full cowboy get-up. Frankly, he barely even shows up in his own clothes. A Red Bull cap on his head, a Red Bull polo and some jeans on and he'll call it an outfit. Just another day at work, really. He doesn't get the big fuss, feeling a little like he's missing out on some joke that his colleagues all find hilarious. Maybe that's why it's turned around to being such an annoyance for him, where others are putting in the effort, all he sees is the cringe. Max is here to drive, so any unnecessary attention that's on him when he's not wearing his suit and sitting in the car is too much for him, and some other guys see this as their time to shine.
Max's media manager cheekily asks him if he forgot his boots at his hotel room. Max rolls his eyes.
Then he starts doing what he does best — ignoring everyone around him, cowboy hats included, and focusing on the weekend ahead.
It had worked! For a solid few minutes!

max hates the whole cowboy theme that some drivers seem to get into here. daniel's like that, arriving with a cowboy hat and blouse. mick wears a cowboy hat, too. max'll wear it if he needs to — for socials or whatever — but he will not arrive here with one on voluntarily. it's just another day at work, it doesn't have to be all extra.
then lewis arrives, and the worst thing is — the fit isn't even that sexy. she has worn sexier things (that absolutely did nothing for max, even if he can still recall exactly what they looked like).
and yet —
and yet, this does it for him.
