The diminutive Possum Wrasses (Wetmorella):
And last but not least, the breathtaking Tamarin Wrasses (Anampses spp):
And since I have a bit of space after breaking this post up, here’s the lovely slingjaw wrasse.
He does the big schlorp.
And yes schlorp is the best way to describe what’s happening here.
(A stunning example of the hyper-mobility of the jaws of advanced teleost fish. The hyomandibula and maxilla just are swinging way the hell out there to turn this fish into a vacuum cleaner.)
