I'm also not a fan of those 'spread the gospel' videos people keep showing me or that I keep seeing. I get questioned about them sometimes, and if I have to be honest I don't agree with how they start because the gospels are the good news. The Gospel is about Christ, who He is and what He did for us. He's a great personality that deserves to be talked about, in my opinion. However, I see these people telling the viewer to share the video/word n whatnot and I'm like yeah but then the video is them taking a Bible verse (often out of context, too.) and talk about it. (Or giving people tips on getting closer to Him, etc.)
See the reason I find this wrong is because why are you giving out tips to people on how to get closer to Someone, when they don't even know who that Someone is? I don't think this is what sharing the gospel looks like. A lot of those videos can also be misleading, and even if it's for me to share my own experience with Him, I let it come naturally. Yes, I ought for other people to see how much good He is, but I let them have their questions first. You firstly tell people about who Christ is, you let them know even a little bit about God, then you draw them in more and help them understand and grow. It's always a choice. They're interested and want to know more and to seek Him? That's great! They don't want to hear about Him and reject it time and time again at the slightest mention? That's okay, too.
You can't force someone into knowing Someone else, you can't force a choice. You only inform, offer and warn. Whatever those people want to do with that doesn't concern you. (Unless you lied to them and a buncha other problems.)
I have legit never heard of this trend
Some of those videos could be very misleading for people that also have no idea of the fruits of the spirit, considering that some of those individuals don't even have a good intention behind their videos. If you do have any questions still, you know you can come to me.
