Penny simply nodded– she didn’t want to press the other girl. She knew that Yang would tell her when she was ready, and that would be enough. Though, in the back of her mind, she hoped Ruby knew of her own sister’s well being…

“Yes, it’s very strange…” Despite the oddity of their situation, Penny continued to smile. “I don’t recall how I came here, either.”

“The last thing I can remember is talking with Ruby, and then going to fight Pyrrha Nikos during the tournament. The fight itself I can’t seem to remember, it’s a bit… fuzzy.”

Perhaps ‘fuzzy’ was not the best word to use, but, she could think of no better substitute. She assumed Yang would understand what she meant, however.

Penny’s last memories, and remembering what happened next... It made something catch in Yang’s throat. Remembering the sparks flying, the wires wrapping round and round until Penny crumbled. It was traumatic to watch, truly, someone being dismembered. Someone who Yang considered a friend, even. But maybe this could be... a new start for Penny. One where she didn’t have to stay in Ironwood’s watch at all times.

Ruby had never given details, but after they reunited in Haven they spoke a lot. About Pyrrha, Penny, and Beacon.

“Well... Neither of us remember how we got here.” Yang was worried that she had a feeling why. Maybe these scientists were... bringing people back. If Penny didn’t remember how she bit the dust, maybe Yang...

“Ooooh, oh my gosh you’re so cute!” This was the best. She’s never been so happy in Hive City. Kittens were coming out from nowhere and it was going to make her heart explode. This one was more playful, wrestling with Yang’s still human hand and biting at the fake leather of her glove. Thankfully it was thick enough she didn’t feel it anyway, but the kitten was just playing, tail whipping back and forth.

The no hair touching rule generally doesn’t apply to animals, such as now. The kitten has a lock of Yang’s hair between it’s paws, licking away happily like it’s trying to clean fur. Instead of angry, Yang is completely taken by the kitten and rubs behind its ears.

Rubbing the back of his head sheepishly at the comment, he didn’t need to work out when he was back on Hellsalem’s lot, usually, his smarts would have helped him avoid being killed on the spot. Which was same as this city. Then again, how long is he really going to use his brain for all? After all, he should also be physically strong to help his team out. 

“Usually the only reason why I don’t work out is that I use my brain a lot in these situations, back at home that is. Although, I guess having both physical and mental strength wouldn’t be too bad…” he agrees, “Yet, there is a problem…. Um, I don’t have any money to go to a gym..” 

“A gym? Nah you don’t need a gym!” Yang waved her mechanical hand, letting out a small laugh. She never had a gym when she lived at home with Tai and Ruby, she just had her father as a sparring partner. Plus, he would make them do a lot of training in nature, using the resources around them. Maybe the kid just never had an experience like that. 

Just as Yang was to continue, the previously unconscious wallet thief finally started to wake up. As soon as he did, the blonde looked down at him, arms crossing. Before he could utter a word, Yang jutted forward intimidatingly, and the thief ran off in a hurry, obviously not eager for a second round. She turned back to the kid.

Ah, well this was new. Very new. Did this guy ever chill for like, a minute? Yang snorted. Chill. And he was on fire. Yeah she should say that out loud.

“Hey, you should chill out!” She offered no help in putting out the fire. Travis was a grown man, he could do it himself.

Crow had apparently been working on the thing for months, so of course Yang was curious to see what this Whirlgig Saw was all about. By the sketches and blueprints she saw scattered through notebook pages, long scrolls of parchment and coffee stained stray papers... The project looked intense, to say the least. But finally, Crow allowed Yang to watch while she put together a few more pieces for the spinning mechanism, one of the more difficult parts of the weapon. The staff, or bludgeon, really, leaned onto the side of the desk.

It was ridiculously meticulous work, Yang had never seen anything like it. The springs and screws inside seemed almost too delicate for the monstrous weapon it would become, yet Crow was sure, her hands steady... When there was a slip, a sharp twang of metal, causing a chain reaction. Yang jerked back, but was then pulled to the side by her hair.

Eyes red, the blonde gripped Crow’s wrist, whose hand was still firmly grasped around long hair. The Whirlgig Saw screamed as it’s gears grit against each other, going off with five lightning quick rotations before dying down. If her hair got caught in it... Immediately she released Crow’s wrist, eyes blinking back to their lavender color.
