So in the last twenty four hours, I've seen a lot of stuff about Lindsey Graham, a possible update on Mitch McConnell where he provides proof of life but is no longer capable of serving in the Senate, and a few other things of that nature. I am also under the impression that tomorrow, on Monday the 13th of July, the Senate returns after being in either recess, or something equivalent to it but formally different somehow.

What this says to me is that tomorrow is probably a good time to call your Senators and voice concerns and protests about the KIDS Act package and the legislation that went into it, including not only KOSA but the EARN IT Act and SCREEN Act. I believe the latter two were heavily influenced by Graham, and he may have even introduced one or both; we've been fighting this kind of legislation for a while and a lot has happened in that time span, so I cannot remember precisely and my notes are in considerable disarray. Whatever the case, he is no longer in a position to advocate, lobby, promote, or favor-trade for it. I do not at this time have access to information on when the Senate will be taking up any specific legislation, but the loss of one GOP Senator (possibly two) shaves their already thin majority down even further until interim appointments can be made / special elections held. Majority Leader Thune is almost certainly having to recalculate a lot of political math right now, and he was already trying to thread the needle between the president's obsession with the SAVE Act and the backlash from voters and polling.

Remember to frame your position according to what resonates with the personal and party politics of the Senator you are calling. Statistically speaking, Democrats are more likely to listen to concerns about Trump using this legislation to silence free speech, which he does more than enough of already. Republicans on the other hand are more likely to hear concerns about the economy and national security grounds, and with the whole Iran and Strait of Hormuz thing going on right now, both are VERY topical. However these are general trends, and some topics will be much more and less important to individual elected officials, so figuring out what those are in advance is a good idea.

this is not life-threatening, but also who wants weeks of diarrhea and a fucking parasite in them lol. if you suspect you've already had this and it's passed, i would see a doctor. you might need an antiparasitic anyway. if you're actively sick, see a doctor and they might be able to prescribe medication to help you get over it faster.

try to avoid eating raw vegetables, scrub fruit with a produce brush and rinse thoroughly with water. again, don't bother with premade greens or bagged salads. if you buy lettuce, remove the outer 2-3 layers of leaves.

Hassian & Jealousy...

- He absolutely does get jealous. Oh dragon he gets jealous sometimes. And of course hes not gonna tell anyone but internally hes so jealous. His moms can tell tho. And eventually his partner too.

- Hes absolutely aware that jealousy can get unhealthy, but it doesn't change the fact he is sometimes. He tells himself that its selfish he wants his partner all to himself. His biggest issue is that he has no clue how to express this feeling. Hes also scared to scare them off. So sometimes he just has to scream into a pillow in the grove late at night. (Najuma once heard him and was terrified, she thought it was the beast of the elderwoods, joke fully intended ofc.)

Tau once started howling in response.

- He hates when other people touch his s/o. He basically is already always keeping an eye on them for safety (totally not bc he likes looking at them and thinks theyre gorgeous) so he constantly notices others touching them. A hand on their back, a small but clearly intentional bump while walking past them. Hassian wants to bite the other persons fingers off.

He wants to show people that theyre a couple too, but he struggles to show pda. We all know hes a bit socially awkward. So it takes quite a while into the relationship for him to actually show pda.

- Has physically removed a hand off his partner. Get. Your. Hand. Off. Them.

He is not above grabbing a wrist. Honestly hes not above fist fighting someone. He doesn't want to, but he will.

- He gets the biggest confidence boost whenever his s/o tells someone off for flirting with them. "No, I have a boyfriend." Makes him instantly perk up. Honestly just being referred to as boyfriend in general makes him puff up, feeling all fuzzy inside.

- If his partner was hit on earlier in the day, once they finally get home Hassian always feels the need to smooch them all over. Thats his partner and they should know that. They jokingly ask if hes marking his territory, which he just responds to with a hum.

- One time his partner showed up at the Inn wearing one of his shirts bc they got cold out in Bahari and the grove was closer than their house. Hassian was very pleased, what better thing to exist than his s/o wearing his clothes and smelling like him. He tried very hard to not show how pleased he was tho his plum coloured ears told on him.

- Furiously gets jealous off people making his partner laugh. Especially Reth, hes good at making people laugh. Hassian is so different from Reth. He doesnt consider himself funny or outwardly charming like Reth is. He barely ever even understands sarcasm. So when he hears his partner giggle you just know his head will be whipping around.

- Chayne told Hassian to try and write down how he feels so he can process emotions better. So maybe one day hell be able to put them into words. He does attempt to write down how he feels with his jealousy. At the beginning it was genuinely just angry scribbles, but slowly and with enough support it starts to become more coherent. Eventually he may even let his partner peek at it sometimes.

- Hes never really angry at his partner, like unless they genuinely were the person initiating flirting with another person etc. He's just scared to loose them or that hell be replaced. He has issues.

Smoking is a vice. Vices can be managed, cut back and replaced.

If anyone tells you go cold turkey on most drugs in a high stress period of your life if they are not causing insane self harm or harm to others, they are like a puritan and a cop who is going to inadvertently hospitalize you or give you a stress attack. Quitting cigarettes cold turkey while braving exterior stress can make your health worse should you relapse.

Consider counting cigarette intake down before quitting entirely. So you don't have intense panic attacks.

You often need to be stable to quit. It is okay when you aren't.
