kihyun's natal venus in scorpio is conjunct his scorpio mercury and pisces moon. before even considering a romantic relationship, kihyun would like someone he gets along with on a personal basis. scorpio venus naturally is pretty guarded, but with all of these benefic aspects in kihyun's chart, as long as he sees you're a decent human being and won't offend him, he will like you just fine. his venus is also sextile uranus and neptune. he might like someone who's a little different from him. when he mentioned that on midnight idol, monbebes were joking saying that his ideal type is isfj (the opposite of entp) 🤣 honestly speaking, they might not be far off.

in the venus persona chart, the venus's venus is trine saturn. kihyun might like a traditional girl, someone who would look good to his family. the ruler of the chart, mercury, is in libra in the 2nd house. someone who takes care of themselves, their money, and has good manners would be attractive to him. mercury is also square the moon (capricorn). there is a need for structure and control, but mercury in libra prioritizes harmony and communicating in a way that's just and appropriate. he might like someone who is willing to hand him the reigns. it's difficult for him to say that he wants to wear the pants in the relationship, so he would like if his partner understands that and lets him be the gentleman that he wants to be.

the mars of the venus persona chart is in leo and square the sun and jupiter in scorpio. going off of what i said before, kihyun needs to feel like his partner thinks he's the Rizzness (tm) and the coolest man in the world and that they're insanely attracted to him- but that directly contrasts what he mainly wants - a deep, honest connection. if his partner fawns over him too much, he might feel like the relationship to too superficial. on the other hand, if he partner is simply a loyal companion who doesn't express their attraction, he wouldn't see a reason why they have to be lovers. he would probably like to have a good flirt to roast ratio with his partner, just to keep the fire going.

matchmaker's choice:

now looking into the moon persona chart, we see a t-square between chiron (virgo) and saturn (pisces), with pluto (scorpio) being the focal planet in the 1st house. chiron cannot heal the wounds of the moon because it's afraid of the hard truths that saturn brings. so then pluto comes in an basically forces transformation, because as long as it gets done, it doesn't matter what the process is, right? except it does. chiron and saturn want to heal step by step, and understand what they are doing and why they are doing it in order to find true peace. pluto does away with reason, and relies only on power. this results in an extremely volatile energy, which honestly, i felt when i did tarot readings for kihyun. he's suspicious of people who pry about his inner world, and was constantly kind of pushing me away. and he's not being mean, he's just trying to protect himself.

the missing leg of the t-square is in the moon's 7th house in taurus, which represents emotional connections with others. with the house being in the sign of taurus, he would greatly benefit from connections that help him take care of himself! people that can make him slow down, relax, and truly rest would be best for him. not only would that help build trust, but it would also help his chiron and saturn finally make some progress on healing those wounds the way they were supposed to be healed - with care and tenderness. if kihyun knows that there is someone he can rely on when it comes to his heart, he can finally take a breather and focus on himself, perhaps even ask for help or advice. no more forcing, no more pushing.

hyungwon is an extremely consistent person who knows exactly who he is, what he likes, and what he doesn't like. he has a capricorn stellium in the 6th house. he's introverted, sensitive, and a stickler for the rules (especially regarding hierarchy). consideration and respect are a must to get on his good side.

his venus persona chart is interesting because there is both a t-square and buffer planet in the exact house where the t-square's missing leg is. the opposition is between mars (3H) and saturn (10H), which in the venus persona chart, represent uncompromisable needs and indulgences that need to be controlled, respectively. the focal planets of the t-square are jupiter and venus in sagittarius (7H). with this t-square, hyungwon pretends to be chill and low maintenance while secretly hoping that others would help fulfill his needs. in particular, he absolutely needs to follow his routine (virgo), and for the people around him to pay attention to his sensitivities when he can't. it sounds like he's acting spoiled, but that's just how he is as a person. everybody has their own thing that they can't sacrifice, and for hyungwon, it's his taking care of his condition and immediate surroundings.

he also has the moon in cancer as a buffer planet in the 1st house. ultimately, he just wants to be cared about, but the problem posed by the t-square is that he needs constant reassurance. that being said, hyungwon likes people he can have honest conversations with, that make him feel included and cared for.

matchmaker's choice:

the moon is hyungwon's chart ruler, so any aspects to it are especially important. i previously talked about his moon opposing chiron, and how jupiter in scorpio acts as the buffer planet. hyungwon's gift for deep introspection acts as a facilitator between his pain and his heart. however, the moon also makes an out-of-sign conjunction with saturn in aquarius. growth and transformation cannot take place until hyungwon learns the lessons posed by saturn in aquarius - he cannot make any meaningful change unless he understands fundamentally how his current reality works. in this particular context, it's about his emotional programming. hyungwon needs to work through and understand the mechanisms of his heart, and only then will he have the key to transformation. with that being said, his partner should be someone who can give him space when he needs it, but also lend an ear when he wants to talk. they should be understanding and never jump to conclusions.

his moon persona chart tells a similar story to his venus persona chart. there is yet another t-square, between leo moon (10H) and aquarius mars (4H), with scorpio jupiter (1H), once again, as the focal planet. there is a need for hyungwon to feel special and praised, but at the same time, he needs the independence to carve out a path for himself, so he relies on his good fortune to attract people who can match his depth. his partner should have faith in him, and give praise when he deserves it. even they're giving him criticism, it's constructive and put in a way that won't hurt his feelings. hyungwon needs that encouragement to keep improving and growing as person. i know it seems like i'm just listing vague traits of a generically good person but hyungwon's emotional wellbeing is extremely important part of his life. to have someone he can trust with his heart is a big deal. honestly, the solutions to all of hyungwon's flaws can be found within himself. therefore, his partner doesn't need to do anything in particular or be anything special, just to be beside him along his journey in life.

jooheon has stated before that he likes people who only have eyes for him. that's not a surprise considering his natal scorpio venus. if you're going to choose him, choose only him. if you're looking at other people, then that means you never really liked him in the first place.

that being said, loyalty is the number one trait he wants in a partner. there's this boundlessness to jooheon's love, with his venus conjunct jupiter and sextile neptune. someone romantic and devoted to him would really lift his heart. if he loves you, he will love you in each and every way possible.

let's look deeper into his venus with the persona chart. we see that there's this need to be independent, with the moon in aquarius square venus. even though he wants depth from a partner, he doesn't want someone clingy. he likes a little bit of distance. as a star with jooheon's caliber, you would think that he has a strong sense of ego, but he's actually a lot more impersonal than you'd expect.

venus's leo mars is square the both sun and jupiter. in the venus persona chart, mars represents a masculine part of the feminine persona, which usually is the opposite of what everything venus represents. so her mars would be something that she both needs and would destroy her at the same time. for jooheon, it's the need for applause. in his lover's eyes, he wants to be seen as one of a kind. he can go a bit overboard sometimes, focused too much on the performance and theatrics of love as opposed to what actually matters.

despite his reputation as a fierce performer, jooheon is not an arrogant person. his sun and moon are conjunct each other in libra. he's someone without pride. so a partner who's too self centered would drain the life out of him. also, if they don't care about knowing him any deeper than what's beyond the surface, he'll feel like his freedom is stifled. he can't be bright and optimistic all the time, and his partner needs to understand that realist side of him. his strength comes from his grit, and the fact that he knows that the world is unyielding. alexa, play now or never by monsta x🗣️

looking deeper into his moon persona chart, jooheon actually wants to discipline his emotions. the moon's moon is in capricorn, and the moon's mercury is trine saturn to boot. he doesn't want to be seen as a guy who lets his emotions get the better of him. but unfortunately that can't always be the case! his moon's mars is in leo, so his feelings will definitely show whether he likes it or not! he won't say it with his own mouth, but it'll show on his face, his body language, etc. so his partner should be someone who won't make fun of him or patronize him. doing so would only close him off. i actually think it'd be best if his partner kinda gassed him up? agree with him and fight alongside him so he wouldn't feel embarrassed later? but then also be able to guide him towards maturity and objectivity.

when changkyun says he doesn't care about looks, he means it. his natal venus in pisces is unaspected, so it remains uninfluenced by any other planets. all he asks is to be loved fully and unconditionally.

for further information, we look into his venus persona chart. it's in a bucket shape with the moon as the handle planet. before any of the other planets get to have a say, they have to get through the moon first. it's in the sign of leo, and it opposes mercury in aquarius. in the venus persona chart, the moon represents venus' subconscious needs, and mercury is how venus communicates its charm and affection. in other words, changkyun won't approach people who don't pass his vibe check. moon in leo needs to feel like they're special and acknowledged for who they are. if he doesn't like the way you make him feel, then you'll never get a chance with him. but this isn't to say that he'll fall someone who flatters his ego. don't forget that his natal venus is pisces. he can feel if you're being genuine or not.

in the venus persona chart, neptune represents our faith in the divine, and how we romanticize it. he has this planet square with venus, which can mean that he can fall too hard too fast when he meets someone he likes. he might think that he was destined to meet that person, and can jump to the conclusion that they're his soulmate. ironically, even though he's got a million walls surrounding his heart, he can fall in love at first sight, much to his detriment.

the venus is in aries - he's mentioned before that he likes people who have a vision for themselves and for the future. he wants his partner to be independent, live their own lives, and not make him their first priority. to him, a relationship is comprised of two equals. also, he would want someone to be their true, authentic self with him. this means knowing who you are, what you want, being honest, and sticking to your principles. he doesn't like sly/cunning people who have ulterior motives when getting close to him.

matchmaker's choice:

i've already talked about changkyun's t-square with his natal moon, chiron, and mercury, and how he tends to get into a vicious cycle of drowning in his emotions. it's important that his significant other doesn't invalidate his feelings, as the moon and chiron are extremely sensitive planets. his partner must be gentle, compassionate, and also leave him alone when he wants to be alone. also, someone who can vitalize him and have meaningful conversations with him will be a good match, considering the 9th house is the missing leg of this t-square.

if we look at his moon persona chart, we see a t-square between the sun and moon, with the focal planet being jupiter in capricorn. this t-square is very interesting because his natal moon in aries is opposing his moon's moon in libra. consciously, changkyun thinks that his emotions justify his solitude. he pushes people away because he doesn't need them and doesn't want to get hurt. but his moon's moon in libra in the 11th house is saying that his heart isn't as solitary as he says. what his moon needs is harmony - more specifically, it needs emotional tranquility. unfortunately, we live in a Society and will encounter people both good and bad, and his emotional state will constantly be stimulated. because of that, he wishes that everybody would live with more compassion, making the world a more comfortable place to be in.

the focal planet of this t-square is jupiter in capricorn, lying in the 2nd house. in the moon persona chart, the 2nd house is how the moon soothes and comforts itself. because his natal moon (aries) and moon's moon (libra) are battling between self and other, changkyun is constantly needing to find balance and reach equilibrium. he does so through jupiter, which symbolizes the moon's beliefs and emotional growth. jupiter in capricorn is the blessing of tenacity. changkyun just toughs it out through times of stress because he knows he always finds his way back to himself eventually. jupiter will help the moon expand, but in a way that's sensible and well paced. thus, his moon has incrementally grown bigger, stronger, able to bear the suffering that comes with being human.

the reason why i'm meticulously explaining the mechanism of this t-square is because his partner needs understand how to navigate through its complexity. they don't have to memorize all the details, but they should know how to handle him gracefully. changkyun is a very intuitive person, and there's a lot that he won't say. like yeah, he does want you to read his mind, actually😤 for a lot of people, this isn't an easy thing to ask for. therefore, his partner should love him enough to have the patience to figure him out. don't get too frustrated with him or ask him to explain, because honestly, it's hard for him to explain it too. he has his own way of doing things, and the best thing you can do is listen, have faith, and do your best to make things easier for him.

now we come to the missing leg of the t-square, which is in the 8th house in cancer. the 8th house of the moon persona chart represents the moon's deepest fears and insecurities. what does changkyun fear? he fears intimacy. he fears relying on someone, growing attached, and needing them so bad that he can't live without them. instead of withdrawing and self reflecting during times of stress, perhaps he can find greater relief with a partner whom he trusts and feels safe with. his partner should be someone different enough to provide new perspectives, but similar enough to him that they can sympathize at the same time. the most important thing is for him to feel like he's not alone, that he has someone who understands him and will stay by his side.

孙轩宇 (sūn xuānyǔ) - 轩 means high, lofty, or dignified, and 宇 means poise/bearing. shownu's name therefore means "carrying oneself with a dignified air" 🤴

李玟赫 (lǐ mínhè) - 玟 means streaks of jade, and 赫 means conspicuous or grand, so we can take minhyuk's name to mean "awe-inspiring gem" 💎

刘奇贤 (liú qíxián) - 贤 means a worthy and virtuous person. 奇 usually means "strange," but i think for this context, we can use "extreme" instead. we can think of kihyun's name as "an unbelievably worthy and virtuous person" ✅

蔡亨源 (cài hēngyuán) - 亨 means smooth or lucky, and 源 means the source or origin of something. in short, hyungwon's name is a blessing which means "the source of luck and prosperity" 🍀

李周宪 (lǐ zhōuxiàn) - 周 means circle, complete, or all around, and the 宪 means statute or constitution. literally, this means "absolute law," but i think we can take jooheon's name as a descriptor for his undeniable and undisputed star power 🌟

the house overlays are pretty nice but the aspects themselves are kind of... combative? but then again i should have seen this coming considering bebes' and mx's dynamic lol.

starting with the overlays we have mx's sun, mercury, and mars in bebe's 11th house. i mentioned before that bebe needs to activate 11th house things as a way to relinquish herself from the cycle that traps her. he illuminates the path and shows her the way out. however, this can go awry fast because if she clings onto him too much for opening the door instead of stepping through the door herself, she'll end up getting trapped again.

on the other hand, we have bebe's mars and jupiter along with sun and mercury in mx's 1st and 2nd house, respectively. she energizes him, supports him, and encourages him to grow. her moon being in his 7th house, the house of the partner which also holds his neptune, his dreams, quite literally means that everything he does, he does for her happiness.

looking at the aspects between the personal planets, you can already tell that monbebe and monsta x's relationship is very heated lol. his sun is square her moon, while her sun is opposing his moon. meanwhile, both mars are square to each other 😭 the two definitely butt heads, but the funny thing is that their mercuries are trine to each other; they're usually both on the same page, and don't take anything to heart lmfao 🤣

monbebe has a reputation for being loud, passionate, and a little carnal (aries mc), but when you look at monbebe herself, she's actually more complicated than what meets the eye. my first impression of this chart was that this person has a lot of underlying issues that they need to address (she has a whopping 3 t-squares in their natal chart!).

i want to talk about what i think is the most important t-square: moon opposing mars with saturn as the focal planet.

her aquarius moon is in the 8th house. instead of allowing herself to feel her emotions, her immediate reaction is to dissociate from it, separating her heart from her body, and chasing material order instead (virgo mars in 2nd house). she hides her emotions, stashes them away in a dark place, and directs her energy outward instead. mars in virgo is all about methodical action. she collects, cleans, and rearranges her physical belongings in pursuit of satisfaction. the key player in this t-square, saturn in sagittarius, lies in the 5th house of pleasure. saturn gives structure to the topics of the 5th house, resulting in organized play aka fandom activities. through participating in fandom, saturn brings moon and mars to face each other. the inquisitive child and the strategist warrior have a synergy in which the child gives the warrior a reason to fight, and the warrior gives the child a means of survival. saturn is also sextile to sun in libra, which acts as the benefactor. however, sun is fallen in libra, so this t-square is what gives her a sense of purpose, even though it's a vicious cycle. kind of like sisyphus.

i feel like doing a group natal reading for monsta x is kinda redundant considering how much personality typing content there is for the members throughout the years lol. but i wanted to do separate natal chart readings first so that i can comprehensively analyze monsta x and monbebe's synastry.

monsta x is a group known for their strong characters. you don't have to ask who they are - they will show you. their sun, mercury, and mars lie in the 10th house of reputation. the selves they present in front of the camera is about 80% of their true selves. they have a leo rising and taurus mc - they're a team known for their distinct style and star power, and they constantly strive to be a strong and reliable team that always deliver quality results.

in shownu's bazi, he has the auspicious star combination of the three gentlemen, but it's in reverse order, meaning that the talent and blessings are there, but shownu doesn't wield it with intention 🤣

this is consistent with this western astrology natal chart. his taurus mars is conjunct his taurus ascendent, but it's in the 12th house. his masculinity is apparent in his physique, but it's subdued in his personality. mars, which rules anger, aggression, sex, is absent from shownu's general disposition. this isn't to say that he doesn't get mad, or is a pushover in any way; rather, he's just not very intimidating lol. it's a part of the reason why he's so popular with women - he's manly in a way that doesn't make them feel uncomfortable or burdened.

minhyuk was literally born to be an entertainer - he has an air grand trine composed of his gemini moon, libra venus, and aquarius saturn. this means that he has an effortless talent for things like communication, logic, and social harmony. this placement is at the forefront of minhyuk's character, as it's one of his most distinguishing features as a member of monsta x.

his gemini moon is in the 9th house of philosophy and discovery, so he loves a good discussion/debate, and learning new things (entp tingz 🤪). his libra venus is in the first house, and also conjunct his libra ascendent, giving him an affinity for the arts. venus also beautifies his face, giving him softer, prettier features.

his aquarius saturn is a placement that is less obvious, but arguably one of the most important ones in regards to minhyuk's success as an entertainer. saturn is the planet of conventions, and aquarius is anything but. with this planet in the 5th house of fun and entertainment, minhyuk is very much aware of what the conventions are of the showbiz world, but he will find the most fulfilling rewards when he challenges those conventions. contrary to what others might say, one of the reasons why monsta x managed to maintain their staying power is because minhyuk did his part to promote mx in front of the the general public. he didn't limit himself to programs only geared towards idol fans; he went on mainstream broadcasts with a wider audience demographic. witty, handsome, and not afraid to make fun of himself, minhyuk is a gem for variety show casting directors. whether it's hosting or guesting, he'll do well in any program.

i think an interesting manifestation of this grand trine, at least in the recent landscape of kpop, is minhyuk's ability to keep up with trends. he knows most of gen z memes, and how to use them without looking like a boomer. gemini moon quickly learns it, aquarius saturn dissects it, and his libra venus gives him the grace to pull it off.

something i noticed is that monbebe that bias either kihyun, hyungwon, or changkyun tend to also bias one of the other two 🤣 my theory is that those monbebe are drawn to the emotional complexity of these three members. there is an aspect all three have in common: moon opposite chiron; the child is at odds with the wounded healer. trauma doesn't heal as effectively, resulting in people who are emotionally closed off, and shy away from being vulnerable with others.

the most obvious example of this is changkyun. the shyest out of the members, he's mentioned before that he pushes people away out of fear of getting hurt. changkyun's moon-chiron opposition actually forms a t-square with his mercury. with mercury as the focal planet, he spends a lot of time in his head thinking about his emotions, his trauma, and why everything keeps happening to him. think of a t-square as a bow, with the focal planet being the force pulling back the string. what is the trigger that will release the arrow and relieve the tension? we look for harmonic aspects to the focal planet. for changkyun, he has saturn sextile and neptune conjunct his mercury. he has to learn how to heal the hard way, face his demons and grow as a person. simultaneously, he must maintain faith in the world and the universe, while continuing to express himself through his art. music is catharsis for him. if he were to show people his wounds, would he be embraced with open arms?

someone you wouldn't really expect to have these kinds of struggles is kihyun. he's known for his fiery energy and robust stamina. this is because that is exactly what he wants you to see. kihyun's moon-chiron opposition also forms a t-square, but it's with his mars, the planet of violence, aggression, and getting what you want. kihyun burns through any troubles that he has and uses it as fuel to make him shine brighter and brighter so that you can't see his pain. unlike changkyun, kihyun doesn't have a "release." the danger of mars is always there, but that doesn't mean that he's perpetually violent - quite the opposite in fact. kihyun has buffers that ease the tension between his moon and chiron, most noticeably mercury. he also spends time thinking quietly on his own, but he doesn't drown in obsession like changkyun does. with his razor sharp mind, he's able to get to the bottom of things pretty quickly (but that doesn't mean he won't be devastated by what he finds. he just doesn't let it overwhelm him). his moon makes additional harmonic aspects with venus and jupiter, which allows him to maintain warmth and generosity in his inner world.

hyungwon is the only one out of the three that doesn't have a t-square formation with his moon-chiron opposition. he simply has one benefic planet acting as a buffer - jupiter. instead of pouring himself into creating art, or burning energy to fight, hyungwon simply lets everything be. everything will sort itself out eventually, he just needs to do his best in the given moment. in those episodes of monmukgo, he and kihyun were playing games to dispell any rumors that one was better than the other. kihyun, in his typical style, was trying hard and winning the first couple of rounds. however, hyungwon as the one that eventually won overall. he and kihyun actually have their moon and chiron in the same sign - pisces and virgo, respectively - but they have vastly different approaches to their shared problem. hyungwon has a reputation for being "lazy," but he's really just facing the tides of life. if the waves get him, so be it. if they don't, that's fine too. all he needs to do is to keep his mind intact, and move with intention, and everything else will fall into place.
