"This is the last time you'll see me."

Those were reportedly the words of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Palestine’s Gaza, to his lawyer during a recent prison visit.

According to his legal team, the visit revealed the Palestinian physician with fresh, severe injuries to his head, eyes, ears and neck, so badly disfigured that his lawyer initially struggled to recognise him.

Israel’s Religious Freedom Data Center (RFDC) documented 83 Israeli attacks on Christians between April and June across the occupied territories, with most attacks occurring in occupied Jerusalem.

According to the report, many of the attacks took place in the Old City and included harassment such as spitting, verbal abuse, and physical assaults, including an attack on a nun and restrictions on Christian religious figures during important religious celebrations.

Such attacks increased in recent years, especially during events like Jerusalem Day and the Flag March, and often occur openly in public spaces.

A recent study by the “Campaign” Center reports that Microsoft is involved in storing phone call data of Palestinians under unlawful surveillance by the Israeli occupation, with data reportedly hosted in data centers in the Netherlands and Ireland.

The study, authored by researcher Sarah Fattah, argues that Israeli intelligence systems have transformed Palestinian voice data into a continuous input for artificial intelligence algorithms, converting speech into unique biometric identifiers similar to fingerprints and facial recognition.
