Chaotic Paternity AU
Part 2
The Knight sat on the cold stone bench, an unusual stillness for the tireless protector. With extreme care, it unfolded its hand. The tiny Vessel, barely an inch tall, moved with an uncertain impulse. It was like a shadow struggling to stabilize, its minuscule Void legs still learning the difference between floating and walking. It staggered, fell, and stood up again, a silent pattern of tiny persistence.
The Knight waited. There was no rush. There was no Seal to break, nor a Dreamer to confront; only the vigil over this splinter of its own essence, this Mini-Echo that had no name. The Geo had been recovered, the Soul had been completed, but the Knight felt it now carried something more fragile and more valuable than ever.
When the Mini-Echo finally stayed still, curled up in the center of the palm, the Knight stood up and resumed its journey, protecting its tiny companion with the cup of its hand.
The path led them to the warm humidity of the Hot Spring. The bubbling of the water was a soothing sound in Hallownest. Sitting on the edge, with his explorer's nail resting nearby, was Quirrel. His armadillo mask reflected the faint light.
Quirrel greeted the Knight with a calm gesture.
-,"Ah, my friend. You look well, from what I can see. These waters offer a good respite, don't you think? One can sit here and forget the echoes from below for a moment."
The Knight sat silently beside him, keeping its hand carefully closed, the Mini-Echo safe inside. Quirrel continued, staring at the steaming surface:
-"I have seen many things in this kingdom. Great and terrifying things. But what intrigues me the most is the small. The details most people ignore. The tiny lives that flourish in the corners."
He paused, and without looking at the Knight, he spoke with a strange gentleness:
-"I perceive a change in you, traveler. A stillness, a... different kind of burden. You no longer just carry your duty, do you?"
The Knight hesitated. Slowly, with the solemnity of one revealing a hidden treasure, it opened its hand.
Quirrel tilted his head, his bug eyes focused on the Knight's palm. He saw the tiny being, the shell healed by shadow, the Mini-Echo struggling to stand in this new world of giants.
The wise explorer was silent for a long moment, his usual optimism now mixed with a deep understanding.
-"The Void... it's not just an end. It's a beginning, eh?"
Quirrel whispered, almost to himself.
-"A new life born from a fragment. Such a small echo... and yet, with the full weight of its origin."
He looked at the Knight and smiled with a deep, genuine sadness.
-"Take care of it, little friend. Those are the fragments of life worth protecting. It is your own shadow, incarnated anew."

Parte 2
No había prisa.
Cosas grandes y aterradoras.
