The sudden mood drop and eyes which would fall to the floor, clearly, his statement did bother him. Not that he cared, it was just an observation. And if one would ever question him or his nasty behavior as others liked to label it, the answer would be simple. Apart from knowing how good he was, he was well too aware of what he could and couldn’t do, which people he needed to surpass, even though he hated admitting to this, and which people he was too far out of the reach for. Sadly, he placed Yamaguchi in this category. Either way, due to all of this, he had a bit too much as some would say, confidence.

Words of agreement stopped him in his tracks. Surprise written over his face as he glances back at the younger male, for the first time curious of what he had to add on that. And the surprised look would twist into a smirk, an involuntarily chuckle parting him. Reminds him of how he was when he was but a kid. How hard he’d try until he managed to serve for the first time. “Change of plans. We’re heading towards my school’s gym. Should still be open. You need a net if you’re going to try serving seriously.”

so: making an elphelt blog:  - pros:  a character i love with very interesting lose an aesthetic i love and would adore having on a blog no ones in the rp fandom so i can relax and not feel worried about slight inaccuracies  - cons: no ones in the fandom so small rp circle making a new blog would subtract yamaguchi time

Cont.|| Wow. He was still standing there as if he were glued, taking up space. Will he move out of the way or say something? Patience ran thin and he was about to walk forward and nudge him out of the way, what stopped him in his tracks was the other’s voice. Alright. He’s been in an alright mood today, so he was willing to offer another shot to the rambling of an underclassmen.

He snorts at the attempt. This one was good at pleasing and letting people hear what they want. The Captain certainly did feel as if his already inflated ego got a decent boost. Not that he already wasn’t aware of how good he was. Now that he thinks about it, isn’t he always lingering around the Glasses? No wonder they get along. Giving him one of his mocking, rather nasty looks, he decides to bless him with a positive reply.

“Alright. Since you’re so desperate, I’ll let you observe me~ Doubt it’ll help. You’re not even on the regulars which says a lot about your current attainments .”

And he’s attacking where it hurts. But in his opinion, if he couldn’t own up to it, he’s too weak to continue with the sport. It’s not the talented but the smart and determined who survive. A small gesture of his head for the other to follow him.

he really doesn't like this type.  yamaguchi being the unpopular kind of guy definitely doesn't help, but he can't understand how someone with such a terrible personality can have such a craze surrounding him. it isn’t as if he’s as bitter as tanaka seems to be, but yamaguchi isn’t above his jealousy. is it because oikawa's attractive ? ... fine, yamaguchi can admit to that (well, he's no tsukki ), but still ! shouldn’t he try to match his personality to that, or at least attempt to be a bit more charming ? a feeling of regret swells in his stomach for asking in the first place - no, he needs to curb his pessimism ! maybe oikawa isn't really a terrible person and yamaguchi's just receiving some misdirected mistreatment for ... some reason. okay, that doesn't make this any better. 

His name being uttered certainly does catch the attention of the setter. A stutter. He really had low tolerance for people who couldn’t even speak out their minds properly. Brows knit together, having some patience for the male to finish. Hey, the little crow must have had a really good reason for disturbing him, right?~

Eyes widen for a split second but it doesn’t take long for his features to twist in dissatisfaction. “Haaa?”

“Why should I help out an opponent? Get lost.” Though he does consider letting him watch and admire his perfect serve. Maybe if he’s persistent enough he’ll allow him. Maybe.

❝ ah, well ... ❞  where’s his tact !? was it too much for him to expect at least a base level of formalities from the great king ? regardless, yamaguchi pegged this as the most likely outcome, so he already prepared his response ! if he wasn’t skilled at the art of dogged pestering made bearable or even appreciated through a coating of praise, he wouldn’t be where he is today. ( should he frame it as dedication or loyalty to his cause ? )

he can feel kageyama cringing on his behalf, and it would be a lie to say his nerves are making him just a tad nauseous. still ! it’s better to try and be rejected than not try at all, right !? or at least he needs to convince himself that ...  ❝ o ... oikawa - san ! ❞ he lowers his head into a bow.  ❝ please give me tips on how to serve ! ❞
