All throughout my life, my family has spoken to me like this. But even if they did insult me, they spoke about it in a medical sense.

And no, its not actual medical issues I have. I am a perfectly healthy person. I have no weight problems, I do have a small stomach and thicker thighs but I’m still healthy with doctors and professionals.

My parents and grandparents have CONSTANTLY talked about my acne as if it were a spreading illness. Telling me that it was too bad. Even if it would be one or two popped zits on my chin. Or telling me I should lose weight because my stomach sticked out just a little when I sat down.

I’ve constantly been told to wear skimpier outfits, but when I FINALLY drop my jeans and hoodie, I’m considered too sexualized to my parents. And they tell me that if a man harasses me, that will be on me for dressing nice. (And mind you, outfits I usually wear are just t-shirts and jeans with boots. When I dress “nice” its just a dress to my knees and my hair in a ponytail).

I’ve been forced to wear makeup, earrings (even if they irritate my ears), and dresses all for boys to like me and to seem “prettier”.

They’ve even told me how I was fat and needed to lose weight (and reminding you: I’m at a good weight with no health issues). I have a lot of issues with my confidence because of them so I started to ask my friends who I trust on how I looked.
