Okay, so this is love. THIS IS THE HARSH REALITY OF LOVE. In this film, we realize that love isn't all rainbows and butterflies or summer of '94. Sometimes, love is all Before Sunrise. But, heck, most of the time, it's this—it's Before Midnight. Most of the time, it's putting up with all the crap the other person in the relationship has to give.

This film got me even more convinced that I cannot have children. I cannot have children. Don't get me wrong—I think being able to conceive and give birth and have a child is a beautiful thing. But that "beautiful thing" just isn't for me. Nope. Sorry. I mean, I just don't see myself nurturing a human being from birth to the day they turn 18.

But, if anything, this film showed me how beautiful love can be in all its rawness and imperfection.

Again, as always, here are the lines from the film that I liked:

3. "That's the thing that fucks us up, right. This idea of a soulmate, of someone who will come to complete us and save us from having to take care of ourselves."

That didn’t feel like 80 minutes at all.

This is, by far, my most favorite romance film EVER.

Ethan Hawke was so cute, omg?

I loved their every conversation. I love how this film was driven entirely by dialog. It was so beautiful that way. And so romantic.

This wasn't explicitly said in the film and there wasn't a line that said something like this, but, this film made me realize that all romantic relationships are, first and foremost, friendships. There would be days when a couple wouldn't act like lovers but just good ol' friends, talking about life and government and politics and feminism and death and revolution and stuff.

I also love how, toward the end of the film, there was a montage of the places they've been in.

c. "If there's any kind of magic in this world, it must be in the attempt of understanding someone sharing something."

f. "I think I can really fall in love when I know everything about someone—the way he's going to part his hair, which shirt he's going to wear that day, knowing the exact story he'd tell in a given situation. I'm sure that's when I know I'm really in love."
