Omggg I want him soooo bad! @bdbeastie
Okay, couple of things since I've gotten responses to my video...
I know air conditioners aren't inexpensive. But they are a good investment. Spending $400 now can make the next ten years of your life remarkably better. If you can't afford that, that sucks. But if you can afford it, do it.
It's weird to say "people are dying" in response to a video where I explicitly say "people are dying." I literally bring up that other places have this heat without the deaths because they have A/C, and have repeatedly said in the past that this is a needed investment in places like the UK now because of how many people are dying because of the heat. That is literally part of my whole point.
Buildings that trap heat are also good at holding in A/C when you add it. We have brick houses in Wisconsin too. Buildings that trap heat are also good at holding in A/C. Buildings that trap heat are also good at holding in A/C.

It doesn't even get that cold in the UK.
12. If everything I'm saying sounds obvious to you, you're not one of the people I'm frustrated with.
bolaire & figment (4.23 & 4.31) "The cool thing about not being real is that you can kind of be whatever you want."
If a Panto mask is the ideal plowshare to unseal the halfling afterlife, I think it would be fun for Bolaire to achieve this himself.
It's unclear exactly how putting Termina into the Coffin of Olbalad would transform her into a plowshare in the Cloak's original plan, since our local godkilling queen is on the loose and still very much wants to kill gods, but maybe that means it simply didn't work. Maybe because Termina is sentient and didn't agree, she could not be "transformed" from her original purpose/nature without her consent. If that's the case, I think that's fitting. It reinforces the sentience of the Panto masks and that the Cloak did not fully understand their nature.
Bringing this around to Bolaire: a plowshare is a powerful weapon whose purpose is transformed from destructive to creative/cultivative, and by doing so gains new power. And anyone can make plowshares. Shadia transformed the god-killing Pariah Blades into plowshares by painting them and making them harmless props in a momentously inspiring stage play. If Bolaire could truly accept the fact of his own personhood and agency - actually believe it - he would be materially transcending his original design as solely a god-killing weapon. Bam! Plowshare who also happens to also be a little guy. And in this unique event where a plowshare is also a person with thoughts and feelings, rather than an inert configuration of materials, it makes sense that what would transform is how he thinks/acts as opposed to how he is "used". Choosing to build a bridge to free dead souls is also creative rather than destructive. Making the choice to participate in that could make him a plowshare even if he's still figuring himself out internally.
As I write this, I was just hit over the head with the realization that Brennan is pointing at Bolaire to be the plowshare, too, in literal neon colors. Per Mara, the Coffin of Olbalad is "the paint" in the trinity of plowshares needed for the bridge-building ritual (a halfling Panto mask the second, a demonic anchor is the third). Mara and Thjazi originally put the pieces of Termina inside the coffin, intending her to be the plowshare. The magically painted Bolaire-and-Figment (technically created of a plowshare themselves!) traveled to the surface of the coffin and wanted to get in. Painted!Bolaire also rejoices and says he's not alone, prodding Bolaire to look at how he as a person fits into the world and community around him.
Flashing signs pointing at this box saying, have a personal revelation and get in, baybee!

I saw Occtis at the Potato Hotel in Idaho!
Occtis Tachonis has been sighted at the potato hotel!
thaisha lloy most based character ever.
I love that we spent so much time learning about all these death psychopomps for the Shapers, exclusively in service to their afterlives
And the Old Path finally gets one
The problem with Venatus is that people cant be forced to go down the Path if they dont want to
But most other times, the problem is that the Woods are Dark, and though they have cut a path, it is not visible through the tenebral gloom
So of course! The perfect angel for the Old Path is a giant celestial made of luminous paint that can serve as a beacon for all souls who are in danger for losing their way
After 70 years of swinging in the dark, Thaisha Lloy gives the Druids an upgrade
good LORD the acting with matt and alex at the end of that obrimus manor section... occtis just trembling, eyes wide, as his father effortlessly kills hanann, and julien, driven by revenge and hatred and rage, looking at him and putting all of that aside to put an arm around him and physically usher him to safety. just. really good.
I'm seriously so excited to see Thaisha in Dol Runja.
Between the way her presence was enough to make Zebani back off, and the way the rest of House Tachonis reacted to Hannan's murder, it's clear that the Druids of the Old Path could be a major power in Araman if they decided to enter the political arena.
I really hope Thaisha can get them to.

Dead Gods, I feel sorry for the first Tachonis or Tachonis-adjacent individual the Seekers encounter.
Between Thimble, Julien, and now Kattigan said individual will get their shit rocked so thoroughly Primus will feel it all the way in the Tenebral Reaches.
And it will be glorious.
The thing is that I love tragedy with a relay race of hope. Keep passing that torch as youβre cut down, you can outrun the inevitable. I love you
While we're on the topic of Sundered Lords have really bad days
Zebani Halovar.
Her nitwit little brother comes back after going awol for nearly 2 weeks, and manages to get back into their grandmother's good graces almost immediately.
Her nitwit little brother is invited to the meeting of the Sundered Houses
At the meeting of the Sundered Houses, her grandmother publicly reinforces to all the Lords present that she is getting passed over as heir in favour of her nitwit little brother.
After she comes to report that Halandil Fang isn't going ahead with her grandmother's revision, her nitwit little brother asserts his authority over her by telling her not to do anything without the authorities of her masters (aka him). Because he is the heir to the House, she can't do anything other than agree.
She goes with her uncle and some mercenaries & city soldiers to arrest Halandil, relying on word that he stole the Pariah Blades (presumably from Lady Dacen Cormoray) as a front to arrest him.
The excuse falls apart in 2 seconds because Thaisha Lloy is there and oops it turns out that the Pariah Blades to the Lloy family and they can take them back whenever they want.
Thaisha Lloy summons a storm to threaten the mercenaries and forces her to admit this is about the play. She and the mercenaries quickly realize how many people are there.
She then has to march home to tell her grandmother that she completely failed.
A wind blows out the candles they brought and she has to go home in the dark.
This happened in under 24 hours.
Also fascinated by Azune describing Murray as his partner, and then amending that to his teacher when talking to the Einfasen. I can't wait to see what emotional turmoil Luis is seeding with that.
The thing about Thimble having enlarge/reduce at level 5 and that being considered legendary is actually a great worldbuilding moment. Something that's been so great with this campaign is that it really has made it feel like outside the Sundered Houses and the druid circles and a handful of people at the Penteveral, it is VANISHINGLY rare for someone to be high level. This is a decently accomplished group, and they started the campaign on the cusp of level 4. King Gus is maybe the only person we've seen outside those three groups who's higher level. It makes the Sundered Houses' power much more threatening but also understandable; it also puts their attempts to destroy or control institutions like the Barrowguard or Arcane Marshals, which are sources of lesser but still moderate power, in a new light. This group is low level to us, accustomed to higher magic worlds, but in Araman, while Thaisha is well below the capabilities of someone like Mara or Hannan, she is more impressive than most people could ever hope to be. The Mercanauds were quite dangerous but they were also not hard to dispatch at all. A Tachonis army of undead could truly just mow down much of the world and replenish itself while doing so, but three fifth-level characters made it out of Obrimus Manor intact.

I desperately need fanart of the Creed leaving the party with a street of orcs watching, glowering, at them from the darkness on every side with gleaming cat's eyes/red pupils of low light vision
you came to the wrong neighborhood motherfuckers
I love the moment in the theater when Hal makes peace with the thought that he could die for this. And he stays at peace with that decision throughout the party, even after Azune "brings him back down to earth." It's a fun mirror of walking down into the sewer. There, Hal is making a choice to stop being in denial about how in deep he is and actively join the fight. And he was hardly naive to the consequences of that choice. But he remains tentative in some ways, telling Thaisha that he feels "a little along for the ride" in their reunion. He steps into more intentional and active defiance in the decision to put the play on at all, but it's definitely a somewhat impulsive decision. And I love that it is here, watching the play he wrote while the ritual he and two of the people he loves most, the mother of his children and his little brother, have enacted, that he makes peace with his new life in all its implications and potential consequences. And when the Halovars come looking for him, he does not flee
