b) "that's from his old jail"
well no, it's clearly not considering it says "terre haute, IN" right there on the letter.
now to address more comments from sven:
c) "dylann or the staff wrote it like that" implying either the prison staff or dylann himself formatted the letter wrong
first off, dylann has been writing letters for a long time now, he knows how to properly format an envelope, this is evident in every real letter he's sent out. it's not the staff's responsibility to write the information on the envelope, it's the inmate's. it makes absolutely zero sense to say that either he or the staff are the reason why the letter's formatting is completely backwards:
1. prison staff in charge of dealing with mail obviously see countless letters. for someone who sees mail all the time the typical format letters are in would basically be second nature to them, but once again, formatting inmate's letters is not a responsibility of staff's.
2. dylann himself definitely wouldn't be the one to mess it up considering how long he's been in prison for. when letters are one of someone's only lifelines to the outside world, trust me, they know how to format a letter.
let's grant that hypothetically, he did mess it up, the staff would either return the letter to him and instruct him to write it properly or they would simply block the incorrectly formatted letter from being sent out.
prisons are very strict with letter formatting as they're a government agency (just like the post office is.) the way that post offices know which address to send or return a letter to is by the strict formatting, return address in the upper left hand corner is quintessential.
once again, let's grant for a second that the staff didn't notice and had the letter delivered to the post office. the post office would just send the letter right back to the prison because as we've established, on sven's envelope the supposed return/sender's address is in the space where the delivery address is supposed to go. without any specification that THAT was indeed intended to be the return address, not the delivery address, the post office would just assume the letter was formatted in the typical fashion and it would be sent out accordingly. it never would've gotten to sven in the first place.
d) "i sent the proof you asked for and you still don't believe it"
let's get this straight, the whole reason why i asked to see the envelope specifically is because as displayed in the last post, on envelopes sent from USP terre haute there is identifying pre-printed stamping/formatting. the sole reason why i asked to see the envelope is because i am aware that an envelope from the penitentiary itself is the only thing that would take some effort to falsify in a manner that's actually believable. the reason why i didn't accept their "proof" is precisely because it doesn't have any of the markers of an authentic USP terre haute envelope. it didn't even have a TRULINCS mailing label. on top of this all, they got the (extremely simple) formatting wrong. i wasn't even expecting this as it's something that can be easily factchecked before attempting to format a falsified letter, but i appreciate it because it displays just how fake this supposed interaction with dylann truly is.
after being presented with this information about the incorrect formatting, sven shared a new photo of an envelope, this time with completely different (and conveniently now correct) formatting. it is abundantly clear that this letter was written by sven after his previous mistakes were pointed out to him in an attempt to repair his credibility. in my opinion this did not grant him any additional credibility, instead it demonstrated how desperately he was grasping at straws.
of course, feel free to come to your own conclusions with the evidence presented in mind.
