"I need a volunteer!"
Lucian blinks. Well, this was mildly off-putting. "For what am I volunteering ...?"
Indigo did not need someone to watch over her at all times. That much was obvious, she thought. She was a fully grown woman. If it was up to her, tonight she'd be out partying, getting high as the ceiling and forgetting about whatever was in her mind. Instead, she was sitting in a pristine room, across from Vox of all people.
For whatever reason, Valentino thought she needed a sitter of sorts, and that was Vox. She almost pitied him. Almost. But her hatred for the situation took over most of her mind. She sipped on what had to be her third glass of expensive champagne, eyes dilated from whatever she snorted prior.
"Are you just gonna stare?" She barked, indigo hair silky and soft around her shoulders. She sipped at the expensive drink, eyeing the big boss himself.
For @countlessrealities
Before the disastrous ending his plans to conquer Heaven had met, Vox would have never agreed to something like this. He was an Overlord and a successful businessman, so babysitting hoes was very much beneath him.
Unfortunately, these days it wasn't often that he could afford to say "no" to his two partners, unless he wished to undo all the hard work he had been putting in to get back in their good graces.
So, when Valentino had marched in with the woman in tow and demanded that the TV demon kept her "company" for the rest of the day, Vox had been forced to agree without protests. He and the moth had already almost gotten into a discussion the previous day, so he didn't want to risk enraging him just for the sake of complaining.
Thus how the woman had ended up on the couch of his office, a drone buzzing around her to keep her flute filled with champagne.
As for Vox himself, he had just gone on working. Not being the face of the company anymore didn't mean that he was out of a job. Quite the contrary, since now he was stuck behind the scenes, slaving himself away to make up for the damage he had caused while Val and Vel ran everything in front of the cameras.
When Indigo's voice cut through his thoughts, the TV demon almost visibly started. He had been so engrossed in what he was doing that he hadn't realised that his gaze was directed towards her. Or, better, towards the holographic screen projected between the two of them, which only he could see.
"I'm not fucking staring," he shot back, not even trying to his annoyance. A snap of fingers and the screens he had kept invisible out of politeness suddenly came into view all around him. "I'm working. Just because Val decided to make you a pain in my neck, it doesn't mean that I have to acknowledge you. Besides, what else could I ever do? I don't want you here, you don't want to be here, but we're stuck with each other. The best strategy is to make this situation the least unbearable as possible. Don't you agree?"
Slowly sipping on her champagne, she stared back at him, before turning. "Do you guys have any coke?" She asked the little robotic assistant, before it returned with a class and can. "No- coke, like, coke." She glanced up as soon as Vox spoke again, eyes narrowing at him.
She was more than a little bit tipsy, not to mention whatever she had been huffing prior. Still, she kept her balance well even in those ridiculous heels. Her tall form rose, arms crossed. "It's polite to acknowledge people." Indigo was generally well mannered, but if Vox wanted a bitch? She'd be bitchy. She stepped closer to his desk, staring at the holograms full of data, resting her hands on the rather pristine desk. Seething, she inhaled through her sharp teeth and stepped back. Vox was lower on the pedestal now, sure, but he was no one to be fucked with.
"I'm only here because Valentino thinks I need to be watched. I don't want this either." She added rapidly, making sure that much was clear. Voxs office had a large aquarium behind him, sharks circling in their endless cycle of swimming.
Izzy stared at the sinner with an unimpressed gaze, tipping her head to one side. "You new here or something?" She asked, recgonizing the angelic attire, but not recognizing Adam himself. Izzy didn't concern herself much with Heaven anyway. Izzy steps back from him, boots clattering as she does, hand at her waist just in case he pulls anything stupid and she needs to fight back. "The fuck are you talking to? No one up there can hear you." She gestured vaguely, eyes narrowed.
"Oh, SOMEONE'S fucking watching." Who sends someone to Hell like him, and doesn't tune in? Heck, even if it was someone like Sera who pulled the strings, there were others probably tuning in anyway. Maybe some of the Cherubs or some shit. Adam had always hated them. Fucking weirdos.
"Yeah, I'm new here. Ain't that fucking obvious?" Anyway- "Can you just fuck off? What are you even doing here? Do you have a death wish or something? Do you even know who the fuck I am?"
Izzy stared, expression somewhat blank. He used more profanities than her, and it was almost impressive, minus the fuck that he was acting like a total whiney mess. "Why would I know who the fuck you are?" Izzy scrunched her nose up, gesturing around.
She stepped closer. The man was tall, even as he hunched over and gripped the brick wall with frustration. "Should I know who the fuck you are?" She followed up, her accent dripping on each word she spoke.

Indigo beamed as soon as she saw Valentino, graciously accepting the kiss on her cheek, standing excitedly next to Angel. "I hope you don't mind, I asked Angel to come." She knew he wouldn't mind, in fact she knew that it would get her more points in Valentinos eyes for managing to get Angel to attend one of his parties, since Angel was typically distant. It was rather clear that the two of them processed the abuse from Valentino very differently.
Valentino smiled widely at Angel, making him sink back a little. "Of course not! It's so good to see my two stars together, when did this happen?" He gestured between them with his cigarette.
"Today, after the shoot," Angel said carefully.
"Oh, that's so good to hear! I've been meaning to introduce you two. And don't you look so pretty standing next to each other. Don't you think so? My prettiest stars. You know, you should do a collab sometime. That'd be so hot." He purred happily at the idea.
Angel felt that was a lie, it was way more beneficial for Val if he could easily continue to play them off of each other without them knowing shit except whatever he told them. He gave a quick nod.
"Sure, Val."
"Yeah. We ran into eachother and I told Angel that he should totally come." She grinned wide. "To the party." She added, knowing Valentinos penchant for taking literally everything as an innuendo. Although Valentino probably intended to turn them against eachother at some point, Indigo nodded eagerly at the thought of a collab. She looked up to Angel Dust in a way, with how much Valentino seemed to yearn for him, so a collaboration sounded phenomenal. "I think that'd be great, Papi." She nodded again, walking over closer and leaning down in her high heels.
Valentino snorted at the previous innuendo. "That's the plan baby." Angel didn't share in her enthusiasm, merely nodding along, and Valentino squinted at him. "We could make it a whole popular cheerleader goes for the shy nerd deal with how quiet you're being over there, angelcakes."
"Sorry, it's just really loud in here is all!" Angel said, Valentino looking around.
"Is it? Personally I think it could be louder, but the party has just gotten started after all!" He pouted at Indigo. "You'll have to excuse him, it's been forever since he's been to a party. He's so withdrawn these days. I'd show you a good time myself, but my hands are full as it is." He purred at the women around him.
Indigo grinned wide at the two of them, nodding her head along. It was always an internal battle, be louder, be prettier, be more fun. To earn a seat next to Valentino, and not just in front of him. She wondered briefly if Angel even cared the way she did. If he yearned like she did.
"It's not that loud." Indigo replied. Angel should've been used to the noise by now, she figured.
"Of course, Papi." She hummed, glancing at the two women around him with wide eyes. Her whole life revolved around being the star, and she took it hard when she wasn't. "Me and Angel... we should go grab some more drinks."

Indigo has grown accustomed to long days in the studio and even longer nights under Valentinos leash. She had no one to blame but herself for the contract she signed, but at least she had a few decent people around her. She met Angel after a shoot, wrapped up in a fur lined robe that was meant to look good rather than cover up.
Rubbing her eyes she checked the time. It was late, way too late. The only rational thing to do was to drink her problems away. She headed out into the rainy streets of the entertainment district, where the V Tower stood proud and tall.
Before she could even get going, the door creaked open again, causing her eyes to cast to the side from where it had opened. It was Angel. Guess Val was fully done for the night. In a placating gesture, Indigo waved a tired hand in greeting.
( for @crimsonrelics )
The door slams shut behind him as he exits with a huff. The cold breeze should indicate a sense of relief and freedom, and it does. Angie wasn't in the habit of taking this bullshit home with him where he could help it. But fuuuuck, was he sore. And generally just pissed at Val. With a sigh, he lights up a cigarette and looks at Indigo.
".. No offense, but yah look like shit." He mutters, leaning up against the wall as he puffs out the smoke. She isn't his friend, but he does recognise her. He's met more than his fair share of Valentino's pets, both past and present. And whilst most of them all start off a little jealous of him, there is a sense of community under Valentino, even for the golden boy. He relaxes, and takes another drag. "You're the gal that has a colour for a name, right? Purple or somethin'?"
Glancing up, she sighed quietly, biting back any retorts. He did say no offense, to be fair. "Thanks." She replied sarcastically, inhaling and exhaling the cool air. She leaned against the wall of a building, ignoring the rain that fell down the back of her dress, rivulets hitting the bare skin of her open back dress.
"Indigo." She corrected hesitantly. "Val just calls me Indie." She added, but it wasn't quite an invite for Angel to start using the nickname. It was what Valentino called her, and Valentino only. It wasn't like she got jealous or anything, just a bit protective of her boss.
"You look tired. Your work gave me the impression you don't do tired."
Starter for @wingeddelight ~ Velvette & Quartz
Velvette sat backstage, waiting for the concert rehearsal to come to an end. Normally, she wouldn't bother to show up herself to fetch the person she wished to talk to. She usually had them come to her, either by sending a message or having one of her underlings to fetch them for her, but these were particular circumstances.
She had already tried to get to Quartz through the usual methods. Thrice. And each time, Val had stolen her away, even if the fashionista had told him that she needed to borrow the pop star in advance.
The whimsy asshole. She wasn't sure if he had just forgotten or if he had decided that he cared more about his own whims than her requests, but she had decided that enough was enough. Quartz and her assistants couldn't say no to Val, but she could.
And if the moth tried to protest, she would have forced him to suck it up.
The moment the singer stepped off the stage, Velvette got on her feet and stalked towards her, getting in her way before she could head for her changing room.
"You're with me today," she claimed in an adamant tone that left no room for protests. "If you have any other engagements, consider them cancelled. And if Val has anything to say, he can bring it up to me himself. I'll handle him."
Quartz was already exhausted from her day practicing, and being with Valentino prior to that. That drained her energy enough, truthfully. So seeing Velvette wasn't exactly a welcome surprise. It was better than Valentino, sort of, in some ways. Alright. Maybe not. "Uh, you, sorry?" Quartz stammered, eyebrows furrowing as she attempted to process.
"No, Val needs me for a..." She trailed off, gesturing around, taking in the attitude that left no room for any arguments. So, she promptly shut up. "Right. Alright. Whatever you say." If Velvette was ready to handle Valentinos tantrum, then far be it from Quartz to disagree.
Quartz began taking off her headset connected to her microphone, trying not to stare at Velvette too much. It was pretty rare for her to see the other Vees up close, even if Velvette did design some of her outfits in the past.
"You need me for... what, exactly?" She asked, brushing her hair out of her face. She was still exhausted from practice, faking smiles all day was a full time job.

For @countlessrealities
" hey val, i was hoping for some time off this week, maybe we could arrange something. "
" xoxo, quartz "
Valentino frowned at the text, taking a moment to read it. Since when did he give anyone time off? Had he gone soft lately? He didn't recall anything like that. He texted back rather quickly.
"Time off? We have a schedule here, you know." He sent the text, then considered for a moment, and sent another. "Maybe if you do overtime at some point, I'll consider. Xoxo, Valentino."
Quartz sighed, facepalming as she stared at her phone, putting on her best passive agressive friendly face. "I totally get that, I'm just super busy lately!" It was true, performances and shoots pushed by the Vees had her hands full, but she also just wanted to get a break for once. "So, maybe next week off? Xoxo, Quartz."
Valentino could feel his temper flairing. Just who did Quartz think she was? Then again, he thought with a long drag of his cigarette, she was shared among the Vees more or less, and regardless of how annoying it was, he knew better than to strain their goodwill by hogging Quartz all to himself. If Quartz complained to them, they'd assume correctly that his none stop shoots were the cause of it. His next text simply read, "I'll talk to the others about it. Xoxo, Valentino."
Quartz stared at her phone, tossing her hand up in frustration. The others? Who the fuck were the others? Everyone knew valentino made the final call around here. He wasn't seriously about to ask the other Vees about her time off, so clearly he was just bluffing.
"Who?"
No Xoxo, or false sweetness, just unbridled frustration at her time off being denied. Again.
Valentino could feel his patience being tested at this question. Who did Quartz think she was to deserve to know anything and everything about his business. His first answer was natural a smart ass one.
"The department of slut security."
He waited a minute to send his actual answer.
"The other Vees, who else do you think? 💋🍑."
Quartz scoffed at his answer, rolling her eyes.
"What do they have to do with my time off?"
The emojis and smartass reply were just so Valentino that it made her tense up with frustration. The other Vees didn't care about his sluts, except maybe Velvette, who typically styled her for shows. Still, at the end of the day, her contract was with Valentino, not Velvette, and not Vox.
Valentino glared at her response. What it had to do with them is they'd be pissed if he stopped making them money, the same way he was pissed when they did the same.
"Do I pay you to ask me so many questions?"
At some point, he'd have to start ghosting her, a norm in their dynamic really. But, for now, he'd continue to rile her up. It wasn't like he had anything to do that afternoon anyway, unless he went to bother Angel Dust or his precious Voxxy, and he doubted either of them would answer if he texted them. They were practically twins in that way.
Quartz clutched her phone, tugging at her own hair out of frustration. She stood up, pacing in her penthouse apartment, that Valentino technically owned. Technically.
"Bitch."
"You're so fucking annoying."
"I'm gonna quit."
It was a miracle that there were no typos with how frustrated she was. Thing was, she couldn't quit. Not with Valentino literally owning her entire soul.
