The reason I gain and lose the same 5lbs over and over.
b o t h 🙃
Hi if your “new” to the ed community PLEASE STOP NOW. It’s not worth it at all. This sucks. Please just stop while you can because once you start, it turns into an addiction, and it’s so hard to stop.
I've been here for four years. I wish I was dead. RUN.
“For generalized anxiety disorder, an increased muscular tonus in comparison to non-anxious persons has been found“ good news we’re all yolked as hell
sadly this is not because we’re constantly clenching our muscles, they actually say its because we’re all trembling 24/7 which is objectively way funnier….
Like chihuahua.

Boosting this for followers or stumblers onto my blog.
I can’t help with 99% of eating disorder stuff because just thinking about it triggers crazytownbananapants for me, but this could really help some people.
Signal boost for all the girls and boys working with recovery.
I used this when I was recovering from my binge eating disorder and it saved me. This app works wonders and the best part is its indiscreet (it just says RR and has a picture of a bird so no one who looks through your phone will know what it is) and it is passcode locked so no one can get in. I highly recommend it!

i’m seeing a lot of people reblogging suicide hotlines and this is just a reminder that this is a suicide help line that works like a text-based instant messenger for people who may need to talk to someone but have trouble/are uncomfortable making phone calls
Never don’t reblog this. There are so many people who have such bad anxiety about phone calls. This can save so many lives
IF YOU NEED TO CALL 911 BUT ARE SCARED TO BECAUSE OF SOMEONE IN THE ROOM, dial and ask for a pepperoni pizza. They will ask if you know you’re calling 911. Say yes, and continue pretending you’re making an order. They’ll ask if there’s someone in the room.
You can ask how long it will take for the pizza to get to you, and they will tell you how far away a dispatcher is.
Here is an example video
Reblog to literally save a life
I’ve done this. I’m alive because of this.
My flat-mate’s date for the night was almost as drunk as her. She had passed out in her room and locked the door. He refused to leave because he wanted to have sex. He also demanded food because he was dealing with “whiskey dick”. He didn’t like the lack of food in the fridge. I called 911, did the stuff stated above, and he was getting PISSED about how long the “order” was taking. He took my phone, demanded they “hurry the fuck up”. Police arrived two minutes later, arrested him, and helped me file a police report. Pressing charges wasn’t necessary because he had warrants on him from THREE different states for the very thing he planned to do to me. Several months after this happened one of the officers informed me he was charged with two felonies because he crossed stay lines, and will be serving no less than 35 years in prison. The officer ripped into my flat-mate about her bringing home complete strangers, while drunk, knowing full well this shit could happen.
This was 14 years ago.
Do the pizza order, do it as calmly as you can. The dispatcher I spoke to said things like this:
“If he’s drunk say you want mushrooms.” I said I want extra mushrooms.
“If he’s threatening you with sexual assault say you want onions.” I said I want onions.
She went like this with different toppings and sauces for a description of him, like pineapple if he’s blonde, black olives if he’s tall, extra large if he’s tall, etc.
They’ve heard this sort of coded call before. They’re trained for it. They will understand what you’re saying. Order the pizza.
Really though. I’m in training for dispatch and this was one of the first things they taught us. Pretend you’re talking to a friend or relative, pretend you’re ordering pizza, we’ll figure it out. We’ll word questions so you can answer in an easy, casual way. Please, just make the call and we will do everything we can to help you.
Reblog to save a life
Why the fuck is this not more widely known?
SIGNAL BOOST THIS PEOPLE
This is super important omg
you do not deserve abuse, it isn’t your fault. no matter how many mistakes you’ve made or will make, there isn’t any valid reason for you to be abused or mistreated. mistakes are never. ever. ever. a valid reason to be punished. you deserve love. if you can’t get it from others right now, get it from yourself. i promise it’ll be the best thing for you right now, and I promise it’ll get better.
I think anorexia/eating disorders have the highest mortality rate because you have to make a certain criteria to get help.
Like unless you are literally so underweight and poorly, they won’t help you because you’re not ‘sick’ enough which is bullshit. If you think you’re struggling and you ask for help that’s a big deal, it takes guts, helping people before they get to that point could save so many lives, it’s been proven that if you get help before you get so sick you can reverse all the damage you’ve done, you can recover almost completely, but instead they turn you away unless your bmi is under 15, and your pulse is low and your deficient in vitamins.
and the saddest thing is when they turn you away, they prove ‘ana’ right, that you’re fat, and that you’re not sick, so you starve yourself more until you end up in hospital and they if only you got help sooner, you wouldn’t of got as sick.
They need to change the criteria, they need to take people more seriously, they need to help more so people don’t end like me, stuck in this cycle, starving - recovering a little - relapsing again - eventually it will kill you.
Be safe, get help.
They (very often, almost always) turn you away over a BMI of 17.5, so please don’t think you have to go even lower until you can get help. Sometimes, there’s help available at a higher BMI, even a normal to high one, but it’ll be relatively low intensity therapy. But please DO reach out. There won’t be change if we don’t demand change.
That being said, I wholeheartedly agree with the op, and it’s such an important point!!
Y'all I got sent to residential when my BMI was 30.8. I had to be tube fed in inpatient with a BMI of 24. If treatment centers aren’t taking you seriously because of your weight then you probably don’t want help from them anyways. There WILL be someone who takes you seriously. I mean I was obese but my treatment program could tell that while I was overweight, I was still damaging my body enough to need a higher level of care. I’ve spent the past 6 years in various higher treatment levels (inpatient/res/php/iop) and not once has my BMI been under 19. So please don’t ever be discouraged to seek treatment because of your weight, because a GOOD treatment center understands that weight is just one measure of how severe an ED is!
In case you needed to hear this right now:
Please don’t hurt yourself
Please don’t kill yourself
Please don’t give up
You matter
You are important
You are amazing
You are beautiful
I care
sorry I tried to scroll past but id feel guilty if somebody actually needs this. luv u tho sis and I hope everything gets better. message me if y'all ever need to vent, I got ur back 💖💖

the thing is, somebody cares. i know your best friend seems really busy all the time and is shit at texting but she still loves you and she talks to you more than she talks to anyone else and you’re the only breath of calm she has on this planet. the boy in your science class loves seeing what music you’re listening to on your headphones - he has the same taste and wishes he had the nerve to ask you about it. your english teacher loves the insight you have on your papers. somebody cares. the person who lives down the street from you notices when you are sick because they don’t see you stomping your way to the schoolbus - it’s how they know it’s time to get their breakfast ready. somebody is looking for you at the party, even if they don’t know they’re really looking for you - but when you don’t show up, some part of them is disappointed. somebody is looking for you in the library, in the spot where you eat lunch, in front of that one step you always seem to trip on. i know your parents are a complicated mess and there’s drama between your friends and your love life is sort of shaped like a constant question and everybody seems all caught up in their own lives and their own happiness and nobody really notices: but somebody always does. every face in your dreams is someone you have met, and that means that you are in a million’s stranger’s heads. they see you when they go to bed. and somebody cares. somebody still thinks about you even though you were just a person with a nice outfit or good eyeliner or a great smile or because you were having one of those moments that are so charmingly human in nature or because they regret not asking if you needed help when you fell or because they wonder what you were thinking about or drawing or writing or just because you’re alive, and that makes you fascinating. somebody cares. when you were on break from work and saw a dog hanging his head out of the car and suddenly broke into a smile: there was a girl in the back of that car, and I was her, and I still think about you, and i hope you get more chances to smile like that. and there is you, sitting here reading this, and by some small extension, meeting me, and i am telling you, I care. somebody always does. i promise. i promise. you are loved.
…I almost killed myself
I put on my sunglasses, to hide my swollen eyes, over my tears. I cried all my makeup off. Went inside to have a milkshake. I don’t know why. I wanted something to drink as I figured out what I would do. I got a soda and a milkshake. Medium. The cashier looked at me and with a line around the corner of the counter he rushed away from the counter “Hold on “ he yelled to a coworker.
I filled my soda and went back and saw him looking all over. I go up and he gets close and says “I made it a large”.
That was seriously enough for me not to do it. His kindness. Someone went out of their way and as I went back in my car to cry I realized I could muster through a few other days. A few more weeks. Then I came down from that panicky high of anxiety, depression, and pain. I finished my shake. And it was enough time to let me feel better. I… I’m alive. I’ll make it through.
Try and be nice today. Tomorrow. Something as much as a smile. It helped so much.
Thank you man at McDonalds.
The milkshake saved my life
I hope you all can read this and remember to be kind
The smallest of gestures can save a life. My Mum answered her phone when I called and I am alive today because of that.
I’m glad you’re here.
It’s a phone call, a milkshake, a friend.
I feel like I shouldn’t keep reblogging this but when I do more people see what kindness can do…. I don’t know. Love everyone as yourself.
Nah, keep rebloging it. It gives hope.
walked sobbing around a city once wearing a summer dress in mid-september thunder and rain. basically dragged myself into LUSH as the smell of the store always made me smile. the shop was empty and dead due to the weather, just this blonde short woman behind the counter who smiled at me. i stared at her feet and asked ‘do you have anything for people who are scared a lot?’ (i was so out of it i had no clue). she showed me two bath bombs, one pink and one blue, and said both were good - i chose the pink, paid for it and left. i then sat at a bus stop clutching the LUSH bag in one arm and my prescription meds in the other - i’d lied and ordered a refill so i could just drift away with sleeping pills. when the bus arrived and i was out of the rain, i decided to have another look at my bath bomb, smell it and what not. opened my bag and saw she’d put the blue one in there for me as well and written on the receipt ‘feel better soon :) hope you like x’.
no one had ever been so selflessly kind to me before, i didn’t know what to do with it except hang around long enough to use the other bath bomb.
Actually I’m going to reblog this again because of the truth of the inverse: think of any time you have been casually cruel or petty to someone for humor or because you weren’t in a great mood.
The power of small gestures goes both ways.
“I know you want to give up. You’ve come to the conclusion that there’s no more use in fighting, you are tired and all of your energy has been consumed in a fight that does nothing more than degrade you, bit after bit. But you’ve got to keep fighting, my love. You’ve got to keep going. Hold on to dear life with your nails and don’t let it go. You’ve got enough strength left to keep going, I am here rooting for you. I need you to keep going so that you can be an inspiration for the ones who will struggle long after you’ve gone through a million battles. I need you to keep going so that the ones who love you do not mourn for a loss that happened way too soon. I need you to keep going so that this world has one more valuable being because, believe me, you make this world a better place to exist on. I need you to keep going, even if you’re not doing it for yourself now, There will come a day where the reason number one for your existence will be your own damn name.”
— that day will come, i promise.

Easy and very effective
Requires nothing but your body
Includes attack
Very useful to know, pass and share please.
Worth watching
I don’t mean to impose a personal favour on you guys, but I really would like to ask that everyone who follows me reblog this.
I don’t think I made it very clear but last month I was sexually assaulted by someone who I thought was my friend (I don’t want to talk about it don’t ask), and it’s… really fucked with my head.
Had I known this a month ago I would have been able to get away.
So, essentially, I’m really pleading with you to reblog this so everyone who follows you doesn’t get stuck in the same position I was with no way out.
I mean again I don’t want the point of this to be my sob story or whatever but if you could reblog this it would seriously mean a lot
and im asking to all of my followers who see this post in your dashboard to please press play to this video, you never know when this is gonna be
useful, PLEASE DON’T IGNORE IT.
