✿ Life sometimes gives us challenges that measures our patience, determination, mental stability, hope, and happiness. Life is not always about having fun, achieving goals, and success. You have to struggle. We have to struggle. But, do we have to face then with the feeling of pressure, confusion, and gloominess? A big, NO.
We must always prioritize ourselves, especially, our health during these situations.
Personally, when I face challenges, I prioritize my mental health. I often do things I love to feel relaxed and at ease. It helps. I consider those activities as my coping strategies.
Adaptive Coping Strategies, that is what you can call it.
✿ Strategies or Activities I always do to cope:
🎨 Paint/Draw- Seeing beautiful paintings or drawings affects me. It gives me the satisfaction and relaxation.
📚 Read- I do spend my time reading, especially at night.
🏞️ Nature- Staring at the sky, the rainfall, the stars, the moon, the leaves, and everything in our nature clears my mind.
🎶 Music- Listening to music while dancing at times also helps. Bopping your head as you listen to different songs is enjoyable. Your problems just disappears into thin air.
👀 Watch- Watching is my thing! Anime, Kdrama, Live action, and the list goes on. Basically, watching series or movies could make you forget what occupies your mind.
✍️ Write- As a kid, writing is only done to learn how to write. But, as I grew up, I practiced more with my writing. I published few books year 2020 and deleted them. Then, I suddenly found myself writing again to put my thoughts together and make some people have fun as they read.
🐈 Pet- Having pets at home, like cats and dogs is a recommendation. You can pet them, play with them, and admire them. You don't need to pet your problems, pets do. And, pets are adorable while your problems are not.
📷 Photo- Photography. Taking pictures of sceneries, animals, people, places, food, or any other visible things around us is also a nice choice of hobby and a coping strategy.
And.. you? How do you cope up? Share it with me. I wanna know if I can still add another strategy to my own list, haha!
