Underjumble

&& finally it’s time (BLARES MINI TRUMPETS) To cover the Royal Family. So as the summary of the story goes, the previous Empress had dusted due to lack of hope in the Underground once the Monsters had been sealed underground. She then gave life to her offspring, to the next empress of the Underground, Undyne. She had her mother’s spark of spunk && desire to fight, seeing as even along with challenging her mother at times, she’d do this with Asgore. It was a family thing really, something that helped her become stronger. Though despite the fact that she lost her Mother, Undyne swore to keep all of Monster Kind alive. She promised to protect all of their hopes && dreams like a true heroine would; she promised to be as great as Unafyne was. The Dreemurrs, as explained previously do end up taking more guardianship of the Empress as time goes on, they’re practically extended family after all! Asgore, while he’s fully trained && a pro from a war helps Undyne with becoming as strong as she possibly can. Though as ruthless as she can be, Undyne really has a huge heart. When you confront Asgore before traveling to Hotland, after saving his son from falling to his death, does he not directly stop you; he has been ordered to kill you, yes...but depending on whatever route you’re taking (we’re defaulting to paci for easier stuff), he sees a spark of something in you. He says Undyne isn’t the easiest challenge, he knows...he helped train her, after all. He dosen’t want to see the player, so weak as they are to die by her spears like many have before. That’s why he tells you that if you defeat him, you’re pretty much strong enough to take on Undyne herself.

Alphys on the other hand is nothing like UT Toriel at all. She didn’t flee for the ruins because she was disgusted by the fact that Undyne was killing all of these innocent children because she felt like she had to to break the barrier. NO! Alphys fled out of fear. After hearing this document that went through about any human child who falls down the mountain being killed for their soul--right after Alphys had lost both her younger brother && a human child they saw as their own

 Alphys was scared. While she finally was royalty with Undyne, she still remained the nervous one who swore to stay brave. She dosen’t show it much when the player is in the ruins, but every day she regrets the decision she made...but it was for the best, right? She keeps the child out of the basement because she dosen’t want to see them suffer, she’s terrified of losing someone else.

She’s not mad at Undyne like UT Toriel is to Asgore, her first words about the Empress is that she’s afraid if the player goes any further that Undyne will take her soul within an instant. She shows no signs of bitterness, but hopes her words are enough to persuade them.

EXTRAS:

Due to not being able to cook at all, Alphys dosen’t really ask for any preferences, instead she tells the player that she has something for them once they return

This item she gives you is GOLDEN FLOWER SODA, it isn’t quite tea like she knows Undyne would seem to drink now && then when with the Dreemurs (since it was Asgore’s favorite), but the item alone reminds her of Undyne

Undyne still turns your soul GREEN unlike one would assume Asgore does, their battle styles do remain quite the same as in UT. Empress Undyne however has a few attacks adapted from her UNDYING form in UT, && does use the aqua && orange attacks she learned as a child from Asgore

Mettaton and Napstablook are two ghost cousins who live in Snowdin as sentries. It’s more accurate to say that Napstablook is the actual sentry between them, because even though Mettaton is occasionally out and about looking for humans, most of his work, as delegated by Asgore, is centered around helping out around town. He’s better suited to entertain than to hunt, and he prefers it that way, so babysitting the Dreemurr’s playful son Asriel is usually a full time job for Mettaton (and how he pays his tab at the Dreemurr’s cafe); he even manages to keep a spot open at the resort club in Hotland as a lounge singer. Although lately, he’s been hanging out deep in the back of the forest, nearby the ruins door, for an unknown reason...

Napstablook, meanwhile, keeps to their sentry duties with as much gusto as possible, which is a bit difficult as they’re a very timid sort of ghost! But in truth, that’s why they took up the job in the first place; seeing the bravery and determination in the Royal Guard’s captain did they want to change their own ways, and so sought out Asgore for training. They have a lot of zeal and actually are quite strong, but Asgore doesn’t see the need for them to find themselves in combat, and is instead trying to steer Napstablook into a music career. They’re really very talented at it!

Extras:

Mettaton and Napstablook both have robot bodies in the AU. Robot bodies were developed by Doctor Gaster during his research onto soul power; because ghosts essentially are sentient souls, learning how to harness that power could potentially be a good advantage towards breaking the barrier. Exactly how much it helped is not certain, but now robot bodies are available as an option for all ghosts should they want to go corporeal.

Just as with Sans’ ketchup drinking and US!Papyrus’ smoking/lollipop addiction, so too does Mettaton have his vice: he vapes. It’s not a traditional kind vaping, more of just a similar effect from his body’s ventilation ports, but he discovered that mixing that exhaust with the strawberry syrup he gets from Dreemurr’s makes for a fun and fruity effect.

While they don’t have as much confidence in their music making training as they do their “actual” guard training, Napstablook keeps their headphones on their neck at all times as per Asgore’s request. During a Genocide run, the headphones will be what Mettaton wears during his battle, as with Sans and Papyrus’ scarf.

Asgore, being the captain of the Royal Guard since Unafyne was around is like a second father too Undyne once her mother dusted. Him && his family live in Waterfall where Toriel runs a family owned cafe called “Dreemurs”. There do they sell freshly baked pies && freshly brewed tea; Butterscotch Cinnamon && Golden Flower being their most popular flavors. 

Gaster, being a post war generation Skeleton did not get hired as a Royal scientist until the DT project began. This being long after Unafyne’s past did he not know the past Empress at all aside from stories passed on through Monster History. His two sons were created as offsprings instead of Sans being created as an assistant. Due to their father’s work of working with DT after Mettaton left the lab did the two siblings live alone with eachother in Waterfall while their father worked in Hotland. Over in Waterfall did the two sons Sans && Papyrus run a puppy farm where they held dog races. The Dreemur family were their regular customers, seeing as they had a younger son of their own. Sans however, had a dream of his own to become a star, a comedian of his own && moved on to Hotland to where he father was, abandoning his brother behind. Papyrus did become lonely, but tried to cheer himself up && stay cheerful as he continued to run the family pup farm. Sans, taking on the role of the star of the Underground did he star in just about everything you can imagine. His special ‘powers’ seeming so real, but in reality they were just special effects produced by his father.

                                                UNDERJUMBLE

Underjumble is another fancy swap AU from Toby Fox’s work of Undertale. Much like Underswap, this AU swaps around character’s roles while still pertaining their core characters to them. The story starts with the war against Humans && Monsters, the Monsters being ruled by their Empress Unafyne, a fish monster who would fight for her kind against the humans; of course in the end we know how this story ends.  The Monsters are sealed underground for millenniums. Eventually, as their ruler grows older does she produce an offspring of her own, the future Empress of the Underground, Undyne. Raising her daughter does Unafyne fall down due to natural causes && her hope slowly being drained from the days of the war. Around this time is Undyne still a young ruler, taking what she learned from her mother && is getting assistance from the head of the Royal Guard since her mother’s days as ruler, Asgore. The Dreemurrs act as a second family to the empress.  Eventually does Undyne fall for a lizard monster who lives in Hotland with her younger brother. The two eventually form a family with Alphys as the new queen && MK as the prince, && eventually do the events begin; a child falling down. This child is Chara && is brought into their family. The events occur the same as in canon, Chara falling ill && MK aiding their request. In the end, both children end up dying in the same night.

Undyne at this point is furious. Swearing to kill any human that falls down into the Underground; with just seven souls she could become a GOD && shatter the barrier herself. She has her mother’s strength && will not go down without a fight. Alphys however, flees from Undyne’s rage, locking herself into the ruins out of sheer terror. Six more children fall down && six more souls are collected.  It’s just a matter of time before the seventh falls down.
