Haven't posted in a while, been very busy,but this couple reached out to me asking to share their story. I think it's very important for everyone to read it, it's horrible that there's still whole COUNTRIES that are homophobic and won't let our community have BASIC rights.

Esenia and Anastasia's daughter isn't even allowed to go to SCHOOL because her parents are gay. They are looking to move out as soon as posible, since they can't even WORK because of their sexuality.

Three important things:

1) You can now send your own pictures with the rainbow flag (or any other pride flag) per e-mail to be edited and posted on the project’s multiple platforms. Just send the pictures you choose to [email protected] , you should then get a response with the three questions to answer.

2) A new series of pictures is coming soon, it will consist of people from the community (as well as allies) sharing any pieces of advice they have on topics like coming out, dealing with homophobia, etc...

3) For people in Mexico City or nearby: the next photoshoot is already being planned, it’ll probably be around the end of September, location is still unconfirmed. It will be organized as a Facebook event, so anyone can join.

Why did you decide to start this project?

The idea had been in a head for some time and I got the opportunity to put it into action as an art project for school. As it developed I started seeing more and more potential in it, I realized that equality is often talked about but not shown, I wanted to show equality.

Do you think your project might help people to embrace and accept their sexuality? How?

Yes. We need to show our pride to the world, I find people who are proud to be themselves inspiring, because they set an example for everyone else. Part of the project is to show that anyone can set an example, and set us on the right path towards acceptance and equality.

What do you wish your project could accomplish in society?

I wish for it to inspire people, make them proud, and also spread awareness. In a lot of social environments, sexuality is often a taboo subject, we need to normalize it, not just tolerate it.

In this link, Klubbhead consorts with another far right wing blogger, approving of his use of Verizon contacts to ban my friend the former Comicsnixlegacy. This use of nepotism for partisan political purposes cannot go unanswered. I beg all of my wonderful followers, and anyone concerned with nepotism on Tumblr to report Klubbhead for his vile activities.

I’m bringing this online

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that I’m going to start recruiting people to be a part of The LGBT+ Pride Project online, so you’ll be able to send me your pictures with the rainbow flag (or any other pride flag) for me to edit and post, along with a short interview as usual. This is something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and I’m very excited about.

I’m still working on the mechanics of it but everything will probably be ready soon. :)

PS: One thing you could do to help me speed up the process is sending suggestions for the short interview questions :)

Any suggestions for coming out to homophobic Christian af parents??

Not really, my parents aren’t christians. They didn’t like it when I came out, but they’re slowly accepting it. I don’t know how homophobic your parents are, my advice is to lowkey bring up the subject to see their opinions and see where you stand (you may have already done this), in some families it’s safer to stay in the closet because of how homophobic they can be. Most important of all: TALK TO SOMEONE (not trying to be rude, just emphasizing), often we overthink stuff waaaaaay to much, it’s good to have at least someone to talk to (like a friend or a sibling). What also helped in my case was going to a psychologist :p (some of them can be quite good).

Hey everybody, first of all thank you! I can’t believe this project is spreading this much, there’s a lot more to come! (promise) I was just taking a little vacation but now I’m back to working on this, among other important stuffs. It may take a while, but I plan to bring new posts as soon as possible.

Why did you want to be a part of the project?

Because I believe that art is the perfect medium to express our nonconformities towards the society we live in. Therefore by showing our pride towards the LGBT+ community through art, we are demonstrating the society we live in how acceptance is the only viable strategy to achieve equality and with it, peace.

How do you support the LGBT+ community?

I support my LGBT+ friends by accepting them for who they are and by doing this I help them embrace their own identities without restrictions

Why do you think it’s important to accept ourselves?

Individual acceptance is the only path towards self-discovery and self-love.

So according to Tumblr, a straight ally talking about gay rights is “sensitive content” and “NSFW”… I only post pictures of LGBT+ people and allies with the rainbow flag and it is marked as nsfw while penises are flying freely around tumblr without being tagged “unsafe”.

Safe mode sucks, go sign the petition to remove it here.

Why did you decide to come to the photoshoot?

Because I support unbiased inclusion and I truly feel identified with the LGBT+ community.

What does the flag mean to you?

It represents the inclusion of absolutely everyone. I think the flag's joyful colors accurately transmit the community's joyful approach.

What is your opinion on the existence of an LGBT+ community?

I think it's important that it exists because there still exists a lot of discrimination, not only towards this group but towards many others. I love this community because it has an active but joyful approach, it's purpose being spreading a largely positive message.
