tumblr radicals are so fucking detrimental to actual feminism honestly
Ah yes, if you’re angry (reminder: anger is a thing what Tumblr invented) then you’re not an “actual” feminist. Because feminists don’t have anything to be angry about. Black people have no reason to be angry towards white people, trans people have no reason to be angry towards cis people etc etc. It’s always funny to me how people want to make it sound like “your behaviour makes feminism look back, you man hater” is a new thing. Like feminists haven’t been accused of hating men forever. In my most flower crown, man loving feminist stages I was STILL accused of being a man hater. So holding people who are justifiably angry responsible for why people will further oppress and marginalise them is so fucking ridiculous.

Its more pointing out how you idiots haven’t managed to fix the damn problem in generations, but clearly you don’t see blatant hypocrisy and sexism as a problem. So that explains it.
In my most flower crown, man loving feminist stages I was STILL accused of being a man hater.
Because you probably were still an asshole then.
So holding people who are justifiably angry responsible for why people will further oppress and marginalise them is so fucking ridiculous.
No that’s actually called holding people to the same standard to which you hold yourself. That’s called fucking equality, but you assholes don’t want that. You want to threaten and bully people into giving you what you want.
Not one imagined strictly by numbers
By Kay Hymowitz @KayHymowitzSept. 04, 2013
The fall season in gender-gap news has started early and with a bang. A study released yesterday in the Journal of the American Medical Association shows that male doctors earn over 25% more than female doctors. Why am I not surprised? There is a constant stream of stories showing gender disparities like this: that Obama gave only 35% of Cabinet-level posts to women, that men still write 87% of Wikipedia entries, that they are approximately 80% of local news-television and radio managers, andover 75% of philosophers.
After decades of antidiscrimination laws, diversity initiatives and feminist advocacy, such data leads to an uncomfortable question: Do women actually want equality? The answer seems transparently, blindingly, obvious. Do women want to breathe fresh air? Do they want to avoid rattlesnakes and fatal heart attacks?
But from another perspective, the answer is anything but clear. In fact, there’s good reason to think that women don’t want the sort of equality envisioned by government bureaucrats, academics and many feminist advocates, one imagined strictly by the numbers with the goal of a 50-50 breakdown of men and women in C-suites, law-school dean offices, editorial boards and computer-science departments; equal earnings, equal work hours, equal assets, equal time changing diapers and doing the laundry. “A truly equal world,” Sheryl Sandberg wrote in Lean In, which is still on the best-seller lists months after its spring publication, “would be one where women ran half our countries and companies and men ran half our homes.” It’s a vision of progress that can only be calculated through the spreadsheets of labor economists, demographers and activist groups.
It would be silly to deny that equality-by-the-numbers researchers can deliver figures that could alarm even an Ann Romney. There’s the puny 4.2% of female Fortune 500 CEOs, the mere 23.7% of female state legislators, the paltry 19% of women in Congress. But while “numbers don’t lie,” they can create mirages that convince us we see something we don’t. Take, for example, the JAMA study about the pay gap between male and female doctors. The study seems to capture yet another example of discrimination against women. But because it fails to consider differences in medical specialty or type of workplace, that appearance may well be an illusion. Surgeons and cardiologists, who have long been in the ranks of the top-earning specialties, remain predominantly male. Meanwhile, as women flooded the profession, they disproportionately chose to become psychiatrists and pediatricians, specialties that have always been among the least lucrative.
(MORE: The Pay Gap Is Not as Bad as You Think)
There are reasons for this particular wage gap that are gender-blind. Surgeons need more years of training, perform riskier work (at least that’s how malpractice insurers see it) and put in more unpredictable hours. Unsurprisingly, according to surveys, women who become doctors approach their work differently than men. They spend more time with each patient; when choosing jobs, they are far more likely to cite time for family and flexible hours as “very important” and to prefer limited management responsibilities. Male doctors, on the other hand, are more likely to think about career advancement and income potential.
This hints at the problem with the equality-by-the-numbers approach: it presumes women want absolute parity in all things measurable, and that the average woman wants to work as many hours as the average man, that they want to be CEOs, heads of state, surgeons and Cabinet heads just as much as men do. But a consistent majority of women, including those working full time, say they would prefer to work part time or not at all; among men, the number is 19%. And they’re not just talking; in actual practice, 27% of working women are on the job only part time, compared with 11% of men.
(MORE: Let’s Not Forget, Many Working Moms Want to Work Less)
Now, a lot of people might say that American women are stymied from pursuing their ambitions because of our miserly maternity leave, day care and workplace-flexibility policies. But even women in the world’s most family-friendly countries show little interest in the equality-by-the-numbers ideal. In Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland, according to the OECD, women still work fewer hours and earn less money than men; they also remain a rare sight in executive offices, computer-science classrooms and, though the OECD doesn’t say it I’m willing to bet, philosophy conferences. Sweden, the gold standard of gender equality in many minds, has one of the highest percentages of women working part time anywhere in the world. Equality-by-numbers advocates should be thinking about women’s progress in terms of what women show that they want, not what the spreadsheets say they should want.
The trend of feminists spouting false propaganda continues.
If you feel like you have to lie in order to push your agenda then that might be indicative that there is something wrong with your movement. I know this is only one example, but I have come across many, especially on this website.
This so much.
Any woman saying that she’s ashamed to be a woman just because one or a few women do something is a fucking idiot.
I’ve never seen men apologizing for starting genocides, but let’s all castigate ourselves because one woman shows her boobs.
Gee, I sure am not proud to be a man, y’know? It just plagues my heart that I’m a part of the patriarchy, and that I’m just a poor individual who doesn’t really seem to fit in with it. But then I would be a feminist, right? I mean, look at all the horrendous things men did in history, like to give women the right to vote, or to allow women to have jobs, or an act to try to achieve equal pay in 1963. They all prove that the patriarchy is existent, right?
I bet ya that many, many famous men are going to castigate themselves for starting genocides, now that you mention it. I don't see why not. Just because the starters of genocide happened to be men, doesn't ALWAYS mean it's because of the ever-present patriarchy. Saying that a woman shouldn't get down because of what one person did, then uses the term "genocide" when immediately referring to men, kinda makes your own statement ironic. I mean, the actions of a few crazy people who went out and killed millions means that men should be looked at as genocide starters? Gee, this patriarchy stuff is no point to argue against. I 100% agree with you there.
(But to all the non-feminist men reading this, just please tell me: What are you still doing here on this site? I'd recommend you leave here ASAP for your mental health.)

The International Dream Network-Chapter 1
I.D.N. Chapter 1:
Sometime, somewhere, in a world I didn't know existed, lived a lonely scientist in a laboratory. An infamous scar was laid on her forehead as she worked day after day, striving for her ultimate goal. Not many knew her true name, but they called her Professor Sate. Technology to traverse through different planes of reality was invented decades before her first major discovery, that of which she achieved when she was 60 years old. Her discovery was widely received at first, and many people used it to their heart's content. Then one day, the professor vanished. Nobody knew if she passed away or not, but people now use her invention even more ever since her disappearance. I stepped into the world myself one day, hoping to see what I've been missing out. At first, it was a marvel to look at. However, I began to see things that made me never want to go back in again.
It began one Saturday night, where i unboxed a helmet that looked as if it was a bicycle helmet covered in a silver sheen.
"This better work," I mumbled.
My parents gave me the helmet a few months earlier, but I didn't want to use it because school was taking out two-thirds of my free time. Besides, from all of the things I heard from others and the Internet, they warned me about the dangers.
A boy in my school once told me, "Don't you ever use that thing. Avoid it at all costs. Especially Sector 4."
Laying down in a dimly lit bedroom, I slowly placed the helmet on my head. The light in the room became non-existent as I fell asleep.
I woke in what seemed to be a distorted room, constantly vibrating and shaking. It sounded almost as if a train was passing by right in front of my face. I realized that this was no room. This was an elevator. I shook and trembled in fear.
"Where am I going?" I thought.
I looked down at my clothes. There was a white shirt and white pair of pants. I glared at the tag on my shirt.
"Standard I.D.N. Clothing," it read.
When I reached the top, I saw a fine-looking lady dressed up in all white, as blue wires lit the clear floors and walls.
"Welcome to the International Dream Network," she said. "Your name is...?"
"Amanda," I spoke, still trembling from the long ride up. "My name is Amanda Gearheart."
"What a pretty name," she softly said. "Now, choose which Sector you would like to stay in. You only have one chance to decide."
"What options do I have?" I asked.
"Well," she began. "Sector 1 is filled with lots of parties and young adults who enjoy socializing with immature topics. Sector 2 is filled with drama and inspiration all of the time. Sector 3 is filled with a collection of films people create, and Sector 4 is filled with... Very special people."
All of the Sectors bored me, but I had a gut feeling that Sector 4 was not what everyone claimed it to be. I thought I'd give it a try.
"Take me to Sector 4," I said with assertiveness.
A worried look sprouted on her face.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes, I'm sure."
"Alright, Miss Gearheart. Please step through the door."
The blue wires lit up and a white metal door appeared in front of me. I took a step, and I saw what looked like a Suburban town. The sky was clear and the sunlight actually felt it was real as it gracefully warmed me up. I proceeded through the door and began walking through the Sector, when I saw a fine group of boys and girls alike, sitting and laughing behind a building. As I passed by, they stared at me.
"You're a newcomer, are you?" A girl asked.
"Yes, yes I am," I replied.
"Would you like to join our little group over here?" She asked again.
"Why, yes I would love to," I said, glaring into all of their friendly smiles.
"This isn't so bad," I thought. "Not bad at all."
demisexuality:
How does my identifying as demisexual offend or threaten you/your identity? How is it that I, a person none of my followers and anyone else who finds this tumblr have ever met in real life, am somehow harming you with how I identify?
I do not understand why people get so upset over demisexuality…
It’s because there is nothing special about “only being attracted to people you have a strong emotional connection with”. Giving it a special name implies that it’s not the default, average sexuality. Giving it a special name implies that “sexual” people are somehow different from this.
There’s also the fact that it misrepresents what sexual orientation is. The X-sexuality terms refer to which gender(s) one is attracted to — hetero-sexuality, homo-sexuality, bi-sexuality, pan-sexuality, a-sexuality. “Demi” is not a gender. “Demisexuality” is not a sexual orientation any more than being kinky or polyamorous is a sexual orientation.
Not reblogging because I 100% agree with this, but just to provide a different perspective of Asexuality, and more importantly, demisexuality.
