A little more of the flysch on Zumaia beach (Basque Country). They are a by-product of the tectonic collision between the Iberian and Eurasian plates millions of years ago: this gave rise to the Pyrenees and this sample of the Earth's layers all along our coast.
Interestingly, there is one (not shown in the image) that stands out for its completely black colour, whose location and composition provide evidence of the meteorite impact that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.
Part of the flysch on Zumaia beach (Basque Country). There is a route that stretches for miles and miles along the coast near home, and it's one of my favourite landscapes :)
