He sputters when you flick water into his face, grabbing onto his shoulders when he tries to splash you under so that both of you’ll be dragged down if he does. His laugh is a cracking deep noise that makes your body feel warm, your mouth widening into a matching smile as you lean into him, holding him close, fingers against the nape of his neck, upon the fringes of his wet hair. Overhead, the moon shines bright against the water, illuminating the two of you as you both laugh.
