Opening scene actually puts us into the Reptile Ravine party, circa Zootopia 2 ending. Nick hands Judy the pen, she catches the I love you, they tease, they flirt, they banter, we know the drill.

Someone comes over and interrupts. Nick gets dragged away against his will. He looks to Judy for help and she just shrugs and waves him off. “Have fun,” she taunts while he silently pleads with her to save him from whatever (possibly Nibbles-related) thing he’s getting dragged into. She giggles to herself and watches him walk away.

Judy looks down at the pen. She smiles far too sincerely at it, turns it over in her paw. She presses the button.

“Love you, partner.”

Her smile deepens.

She looks up to see Nick doing whatever thing he really doesn’t want to do way over there. He finds her eyes across the room and lets out a soft chuckle, a gentle scoff that says “I can’t believe you’ve done this to me but you know I love you anyway.” He looks away.

Judy grins.

Then all at once, her face falls.

Her eyes go wide.

Her smile drops.

She looks at the pen.

She looks at Nick.

Her ears fall behind her head.

And then…

…it hits her like a truck.

“Oh no.”

Cut to paparazzi and time skip montage.

its birds and I’m not surprised I had predictions of birds back when I was 12-13 years old after the first movie came out, especially since I used to have a self insert bird oc in the zootopia universe, which was a baby eagle(I’ll probably draw her in the future) who gets adopted by nick and Judy once they found out what happened to her parents. Yes I imagined my own version of zootopia 2 in the past where nick and Judy encounter a baby eagle who needs their help finding her parents in an abandoned civilisation that was once ruled by birds, until they find out that they are dead and extinct, I still like this story still since I still find interesting staring just three central characters exploring an abandoned bird civilisation that is just with the baby eagle me and Judy and nick, meanwhile the animals are still in zootopia, I still find it cute that this was where my yume parents phase started it’s still going on today just with my kid oc with other characters from a fandom that I’m really interested in.
