Cloud Watching
I've been looking at the clouds outside the window at work these past few days. I try and use it as a meditative form of seeing what shapes I can make out of the ever shifting forms. This is also entirely possibly me zoning out and my mental illness taking on entirely new disruptive forms, but at least this one feels nicer. The ones that I remember the most are ones that make me think of how ancient people must have seen the gods and their acts within the heavens. I saw Thor swinging Mjollnir, a woman laying relaxed, a snail with a cannon on his back instead of a shell, a giraffe who's neck got shorter the longer I watched. I saw a dragon breathing fire and a rainbow around the sun.

Notice the texture beneath, the pressure, the warmth or coolness. This sends a signal to your brain: “I’m here. I’m safe.” It reconnects your mind with your body and brings you into the present moment. 👉Box Breathing (Reset Your Nervous System) Inhale for 4 counts; Hold for 4 counts; Exhale for 4 counts Hold again for 4 counts. Repeat 3–4 times slowly. This breathing pattern calms your nervous system and pulls you out of the freeze state gently. 👉Name 3 Things Around You (Sensory Grounding) Say out loud or in your mind: “I see ___.” “I hear ___.” “I feel ___.” Engaging your senses helps your brain shift from dissociation to presence. It’s a soft way to tell your system, “You’re safe here. You can come back.”
