Everything hurt.

Like my scalp felt like it had just fought in a war and lost.

And the fact that I was now awkwardly sitting on Seonghyeon’s lap while the car sped through chaos outside didn’t exactly help.

James was driving like a man possessed. Juhoon was yelling something about directions, Keonho was half-screaming half-laughing in the backseat, and Martin— Mr. Tall, Bossy— was trying to come up with a plan like we weren’t in The Walking Dead: Seoul Edition.

“Okay, everyone calm down!” Martin yelled over the sound of honking cars and my emotional breakdown.

“CALM DOWN??” I turned to him, hair uneven, tears still drying on my face. “A zombie just gave me an unconsented haircut, bro!”

Juhoon snorted. “Technically Seonghyeon gave you the haircut—”

“I SWEAR TO GOD JUHOON—”

“Guys!” James’s voice cracked mid-word, poor dude was as nervous as me. “Let’s just—let’s just— breathe!”

“Hard to breathe when there’s someone on top of you,” I heard Seonghyeon mumble under his breath and turned so fast he immediately went red.

I blinked at him. “…Did you just complain about my weight in the middle of an apocalypse?”

His eyes went huge. “NO—no no no— I meant— I meant— the situation— air— you’re fine— I mean you’re not— wait—”

The whole car went silent for a second.

Then Keonho lost it. He was wheezing in the backseat. “Bro—she’s gonna kill you before the zombies do.”

“Not if I kill you first!” I yelled, trying to get off Seonghyeon’s lap, but the seatbelt situation made it feel like I was trapped in a very awkward K-drama scene.

Martin turned halfway around, rubbing his temple. “Can we focus for two seconds?! Hybe might still be operational, we can get help there.”

I froze. “Hybe? Like… THE Hybe? As in BTS-Hybe?”

“Yes,” Martin said, eyes still on the road ahead. “Our company.”

I blinked. “You’re telling me you’re idols. K-pop idols.”

Keonho from the back leaned forward. “Correction. Were idols. Now we’re survivors, apparently.”

Juhoon chimed in, “Idol group Cortis, at your service. World’s unluckiest boyband.”

James honked at a zombie crossing the road. “Can we NOT do introductions while running over corpses?!”

Martin sighed. “We’ll explain everything later. For now, we get to Hybe, lock the gates, regroup.”

“Wait wait wait,” I said, still half sitting on Seonghyeon. “I just met you people, one of you chopped my hair, another is flirting mid-apocalypse, and you want me to trust you?”

Martin looked at me in the rearview mirror, dead serious. “You want to stay out there?”

I glanced outside. Two zombies literally chasing a taxi. One missing a leg but still determined.

“…Fine,” I muttered. “But if any of you eat me, I’m haunting you.”

Keonho grinned. “A pretty ghost, I wouldn’t mind.”

“KEONHO.” Martin and Seonghyeon said at the same time.

Juhoon wheezed, “Y’all are flirting during a zombie apocalypse, this is why humanity’s doomed.”
