INTERESTING how Ryan is married to Blake who is friends with Gigi who is once again dating Zayn. INTERESTING how Ryan and Niall seem to be friends out of the blue. INTERESTING how Niall was in New York for SNL recently and had time to third wheel Zigi and meet Ryan, just sayin’ just sayin’.

I actually didn’t read any of his quotes on it before I announced that to the world! I haven’t been following his promo super closely, so I didn’t know it was supposed to take place before the start of a relationship; I don’t really get that vibe from it. I’m not sure why you would start a relationship with this really distant feeling, but it’s obvious that he’s telling one version of a very specific story (his own!) and I’m not arguing with that, just taking on its own I had a different impression. 

for me it truly feels like a song you could tack on at the end of the relationship arc, a second chance song, especially with the end of the first verse being “’cause the last time that we talked seems like forever, and ever” – like it’s coming back to someone he hasn’t seen in awhile and has a history with. that post-relationship plateau where you’ve gotten over all the immediate, crippling emotions that happen after you break up and you’re very straight forward about how you regard this person, but still anxious to confront them with how you’re (still) feeling. like a ‘please sit and listen to me’ type of song, ‘you don’t even know me (anymore)’ type of feel.
