Grian is a fledgling Watcher, and as such, has the Watcher equivalent of baby eyes. His eyes are nearly pure black, as Watcher eyes (at least, the physical ones on their face) only turn purple in their teen years.
As such, because Watchers, like most species, see their children as cute, they see Grian's eyes as especially cute. And Grian knows this, and is completely unafraid to use puppy dog eyes to get what he wants. It's why the Watchers let him chill on Hermitcraft instead of dragging him back to the void, he used the puppy dog eyes.
The only watcher who is unaffected by this is Pix, who was the Watcher sent to observe Grian during his time on Hermitcraft. The other members of the recap are there because Zloy goes where Pix goes and is Lyrra's mentor and thus not allowed to leave her alone

on a more serious note, I feel like the start of the new season is the perfect time to shout out the recap. I'm not going to lie it's something I've really looked forward to every week and a big part of my hermitcraft experience.
