Minutes for 2017-09-27
The party presses on to Dulcimer. The party notices gnolls and kenkou trailing them occasionally, but they don't approach. They arrive in Dulcimer with two barrels of fresh spring water, and proceed unmolested to the Mayor's office.
The Mayor, impeccably clean and well groomed as always, greets Ceridwen, who introduces the rest of the party, and presents the casks of springwater. Ceridwen mentions that they'd like an audience with the Countess, so he sends a runner over.
The Countess arrives shortly, she's happy to see that the water has arrived safely. When Ceridwen mentions the Moon Clan, the Countess sends the Mayor and his servant out of the room. Coll explains that the Moon Clan expects swords from Darius DeZither, and will consider the DeZithers foresworn if they didn't deliver within a week.
She is a bit put out, but thanks the party for their discretion. She produces two tickets to the Baron's festival, and hands them over, confirming that tickets may be procured in this manner. She mentions that Renner has been busy in their absense, and may have other tasks lined up for them to obtain more, and has gone ahead to the capital to set up the festival.
The Countess charges the party to take the casks of water the rest of the way with them to the Baron's festival. She encourages the party's mages to check out the collegium at the Baron's - apparently there's books there not available anywhere else.
Ceridwen asks who the Baron's nephew is marrying - the Countess can't remember her name, but knows she's from a trading family in Galina.
(So Renner is in the capital, setting up a festival. Nobles will donate their tickets to the Baron's nephew's weddings to use as prizes for festival games in exchange for various consessions Renner is arranging. He's holding the games for the party, as quid-pro-quo for what they've done so far).
When the party comes out of the Mayors, Butch (Cpl Crenshaw) warns Lenora that he and his buddies have their eyes on her, and that they best not try anything at the capital, as that's Count Scnedlosch's territory.
The party stays overnight at the tavern. While T'odd sings for his supper that evening, a bard bursts into the room and reports that news has reached Ravensport that the dragon Aschardalon has been slain, then launches into a song about how the Paladin Octavia slew Aschardalon along with seven magicians named Bree.
A man at the bar tries to raise Coll in conversation about the treasure, but is rebuffed. He tries again with Mildred to no more success.
The party heads off to bed.
