#zipman chapter 17

Zipman 1 and 2? Really? Couldn’t have kept the badass name Weiss? Ah well, seems it’s time for the story to wrap up now in these last pages.

Ahaha, that’s cool. They introduced the tech into society, I like that. I believe the big panel’s also a referencer to the original one shot for Zipman!!, Zippo!!

Man, the main character really looked different originally, I like the Kaname we have now, though.

Well, and so ends Zipman!!. I’m going to miss this series and mourn the potential it had. But, I am excited for the future of this author, I really connected to the characters, for the little we had of them, Hell, we never even learned what the name of the badass lady was. This is just the nature of getting axed in Shonen Jump, after all. But, let’s look at my overall thoughts on the series, for the first five chapters it was what I’d call a good beginning, getting to know the characters, putting them in different situations and seeing how they act. From chapter 6 to about 11 or 12, the series was in full speedup mode, especially during the Dragungarde arc. Characters really stopped emoting at all and there really wasn’t much in the way of good character interaction, which sucked. The last bit of the final arc really brought back all the character interaction that I loved for the first few chapters. I really can’t fault the series that that happened, but it is how it is, so it is a blemish, unfortunately. Overall, I’m glad the series could end on as positive note as it could due to all its circumstances, and I wish Yusaku Shibata the best of luck in his future endeavors, I’ll definitely give whatever his next series a shot whenever or if that happens.

Welcome, everyone, to the final chapter of Zipman. It came down that this was Zipman’s final chapter earlier in the week, and I will be sad to see it go. I wish Yusaku Shibata better luck in the future because I really enjoyed what I read when it wasn’t being rushed, so I hope to see him come back again in the future with another series. At the same time as the announcement, it was also said that Jump wpuld be adding three new series to their lineup eventually, so maybe I’ll check those out when they come, and hope that Guardian of the Witch also doesn’t get the axe. After finishing the chapter, I’ll make a separate post with my overall thoughts on the series. Well, without further ado, let’s see how it all ends.

As always, the art for this series stays very clean to the end. Slashing to create zippers is really cool, I wonder if Zipman had gotten proper, would the author have explored where this zipper technology came from?
