Top 5 restraints?
So far I have not been answering these in a particular order, but this IS going to be in a particular order :D From my least favorite (but still good!) to my favorite!
5. Zip ties--I mean, these are fine, but not as aesthetically pleasing as some others
4. Medical restraints--I do like these, but they're so often used in media in the context of a mental hospital type setting which isn't my jam
3. Handcuffs--This and number 2 are verrry very close. Handcuffs are a classic for a reason, and in particular I like the potential for them to bite into whumpee's wrists
2. Whatever's on hand--Okay, so this one is one I haven't actually seen a lot of but the potential is SO great!!! There's an episode of Animal Kingdom (2x06) where J gets attacked at home (and tortured) and the baddies literally just rip down Christmas lights and use those to tie him up. There's something so brutal about it, about an attack that isn't even planned enough for the baddies to have restraints so they have to just grab a random thing to tie whumpee up with. I love it a lot.
1! Rope!!!--Listen, I know rope can be seen as basic but I love it. It can be found in pretty much any setting regardless of time period or genre. It's so versatile, too. Yeah, you can tie whumpee up at the wrists, but also the ankles, or just wrap it around their entire torso, even the neck. And rope burns are so aesthetically pleasing!!
Thanks for the ask!!!
