Happy Thursday, Masikati akanaka l haven't shared a recipe in a long time here is a Cheese bread with garlic and herbs recipe😋 Homemade Cheese bread What is needed 1 cup Iukewarm milk 2 teaspoons yeast 1/2 cup(125ml) butter softened 1/4 cup sugar or less 1 egg 1 teaspoon salt 2 chopped garlic cloves 1/2 teaspoon parsley 2 and 1/2 cups Plain Flour(add more if required) 1cup(250ml) shredded cheese (Cheddar or Yellow Gouda) Garlic butter; 1/2-1 tablespoon butter melted 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley How it's done In a large bowl, whisk together milk and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly(foams) - this is how you know your yeast is working. Add butter, sugar, egg, salt, parsley and mix with whisk until eggs are beaten (butter may still be a little chunky, and that's okay). Add the flour gradually, one cup at a time, and mix with your hands. Add just enough so that the dough is smooth but slightly sticky. Place in a greased bowl and turn to coat the ball of dough. Cover with plastic wrap or a clean towel and set in a warm place to rise for 60 minutes or more until doubled. Lightly grease a 8inch pan and roll dough into a ball, creating as smooth a top as possible. Place in pan and cover to let rise for about 30 minutes, until doubled. Meanwhile, heat oven to 180 degrees, after the second rise sprinkle with cheese on top on the dough. Bake for 22-25 minutes, until medium golden brown. Garlic butter: Stir together melted butter, garlic powder and parsley and brush over rolls if desired.
