Something I've noticed going into high school, you don't smell perfumes or colognes like you can put it on for hugs but no ones pays attention to that, you pass someone or you're sitting next to them and you smell their deodorant that is all

This is my favorite time: Early morning. I'm the only one awake in my house. My dim bedside lamp shines out my window into the otherwise-dark neighborhood. All is quiet except for the snoring of dogs down the hall. I've finished my responsibilities and it's hours until I have to get up for school. I can sleep, or for a few minutes I can contemplate the magical possibility of staying up all night writing and then making tea to watch the sun rise. I won't, because I'm happily drowsy and I have a chemistry test first period. But it's nice to dream. For now, it's quiet and warm and peaceful and I am alone with my thoughts. It's wonderful.
