I've said it once, and I'll say it again.

I just cannot personally buy that Omega is just the virus incarnate. Yes, the Weil we see in MMZ3 and 4 probably would try it, but that's not the Weil who MADE Omega, was it? Not to say that Pre-Elf Wars Weil and Post Elf Wars Weil are two different people.

They're just in two different mindsets.

Pre-Elf Wars Weil was a brilliant scientist. One trusted enough to be put on the Mother Elf project in the first place. So any insanity/malice was either minimal, or very well hidden. But being insane doesn't mean you're stupid. And trying to keep a virus meant to kill everything and anything with a pulse under your thumb is... well...

Stupid.

Plus, I don't think Weil was really trying to make a murder machine when Project Elpizio was first thought up. He mostly wanted subjugation. I do truly believe the vast majority of deaths came from X and Axel trying to take out reploids that had gone insane due to Baby Elves, and later, the likely "reploid shields" Omega used during the final altercation with X, Zero, and what have you. Plus, Weil is the type to have contingency plans. And the world got messed up SOMEHOW. So that probably had a lot to do with it, too.

That said, Omega does want to fight.

But so does Zero.

Zero isn't X. He isn't bemoaning the fact that wars are ongoing. He's in his element. I'm sure he enjoys the peace when it pops up, sure, but he's sort of a busy body in the fact of wanting to stay busy.

(Mans needs enrichment lest he start tearing apart the furniture.)

The Zero we see in X5 is still the same exact Zero we've known. It's not some deep sleeping personality. Not some alter ego.

It's Zero. Plain and simple.

Another reason I have a hard time believing it is because Omega shows concern for the Dark Elf. And no, I don't think they were buddy-buddy in the Suit. The corruption placed upon the Mother Elf that turned her into the Dark Elf is called a curse, after all. I don't think she was having a fun time.

Not only that, but I don't think a virus incarnate would really care all that much about her anyways. She is a tool at best. Something Omega can use to assert his will over others. And Sigma certainly didn't care at all about Vile. They weren't friends. They were simply means to an end for each other.

Similar code or not, I don't think the virus would care all that much.

Plus, I just love leaning into the "white knight" aesthetic of the Omega Suit. (Leave me alone.)
