TASTE THE RAINBOW MOTHERF*CKER
Til The End card from the Hazbin Hotel season two trading cards.
[source]
I know the meme that they won through the power of friendship is pretty funny, but that's not exactly what happened. I think some people are taking this joke too seriously.
The people who went to help Emily were Charlie, Husk, and Niffty. Vaggie, Angel, Cherri, and Baxter were present, but they don't have any powers. They were just giving moral support. Charlie's friends were the only ones who immediately went to help. But that wasn't enough.
Emily: I can't hold it much longer
Charlie: We got you
Vaggie: We need to be stronger
Husk: We've done all we can, there's no way (Niffty and Angel Dust: No way)
Cherri Bomb: No one left to save the day
Charlie: It's okay
Slightly off topic, but I think it's beautiful that they were aware that their power alone wasn't enough, yet none of them gave up trying. They were all willing to die together.
So their power was not enough. They needed more power. And then Carmilla and Zestial appear. Their verse is about how Charlie and her friends need more power.
Carmilla: You would risk your life
Zestial: For souls that Heaven sought to kill
Carmilla and Zestial: We cannot just stand by
It's time to match your strength of will
I find it quite interesting that the first overlords who appeared to help were Carmilla and Zestial. Zestial never agreed with Vox's plan, and neither did Carmilla, but she agreed to make the weapon for him out of fear. And by helping Charlie and her friends, she would also be protecting her daughters.
And these are the verses from the other overlords. They're not even singing the same line as the main cast. Their motivations is different from the main cast.
Everyone: Hear my hope (Overlords: Save us from harm)
Let it echo
In every soul that needs (Overlords: Lay down our arms)
Something to believe
Take my hand (Overlords: Just for a day)
Never let go
Even one soft sound (Overlords: Put war away)
Can shake the hardest ground
Take my hand (Valentino and Velvette: We'll take your hand)
Feel the wonder (Vox: Wait, what?)
In perfect harmony (Valentino and Velvette: Not what we planned)
We'll change our destiny (Vox: What the fuck is happening?)
And many years from now, if many live to hear this song (Overlords: If we live!)
Not only that, but the composition too. The overlords were drawn separately from the main cast. I believe this was intentional, along with the lyrics, to reinforce that although they are helping, they are not helping for the same reasons as Charlie and her friends.
And in the end, all the overlords agree among themselves never to speak of it again.
So yeah, maybe they won through the power of friendship but that would only on Charlie's and her friends' part. The other part was the power of being a hellborn/seraphim/overlord and "I don't want to fucking die."

A list of characters who have called Vox "TV Head"
Alastor In the recap song, he says "Yours truly fed a TV-head a slice of humble pie"
Zeezi In "Bad With Us" she calls him "that self-absorbed TV-head"
Charlie In "Silenced" she describes Vox as "Uh he's like a guy with a TV for a head, it's, like, about this big..."
"Lucifer In "Silenced" he says "Oh, the TV-head guy." In his portion of "VOX POPULI," he calls him "Mister-TV-Head-man"
Literally everyone is calling him a TV Head and it's hilarious.
If anyone has more to add to the list, please contribute. At this rate Vox needs to legally change his name to TV Head because that's all anyone calls him.
During Heaven's Best AU how Valentino and Velvette what kind territory or business? Without Vox in their life!? Remain same with VEES tower or probably smaller or etc!?
Valentino and Velvette are the newest officially recognized Overlords.
And the weakest, though most civilians of Hell don't know that.
Valentino's had the power/souls/territory to be recognized as an Overlord on and off for decades, but Carmilla had never invited him to their board meetings. She saw his hold over his assets as too unstable. In her opinion he was just another violent pimp, one that managed to stick around longer than the others. He wasn't taken seriously by anyone except Zeezi and, strangely, Zestial, but that still wasn't enough for Carmilla to invite him.
He didn't care to be invited anyway, though recognition would have been nice… whatever… Fuck them.
Velvette is an Influencer and Fashion Designer like in canon and she got a boost into Overlord status by hiring Valentino's souls to model and work for her. In exchange, she helped Valentino with his public image. Promoting his clubs, employees, and developing Love Potion.
With Velvette's promotions and recommendation, Val is able to rent out his souls to different studios covering different forms of entertainment and media, so he's become something like an agent. He's not personally involved in movie production.
When they met, Valentino had recently lost a lot of territory and souls and was working on getting it back. He meets Velvette who was snatching up all the 'scraps' that were left behind. His intention was to get rid of her for the audacity but her attitude charms him enough that he holds off on it until he sees she can be useful, then he wants to keep her. Velvette saw Valentino as a way to quickly gain status and then bail on him the next time he loses his hold on power. She did her research, she knows its going to happen again and he'll have bigger problems than trying to track her down and by then she'll be untouchable.
Buuut then the two end up bonding because they have a lot in common. Velvette just had no idea since Valentino's been in only high stress situations since he came down here. And Valentino LISTENS to her??? He sometimes has a pissbaby attitude but he takes her advice and critiques seriously. He like. Respects her. Meanwhile, Valentino didn't think anyone as capable as Velvette would ever want anything to do with him, professionally, like he's a person. And learning she likes him? He didn't think it was possible for him to be tolerated by anyone he didn't own. They make their partnership official and eventually genuinely learn to trust one another and help each other out without really expecting anything in return. You know, like friends!
Together, they're able to shove their fingers in every pie in the Entertainment District. Val owns the talent so you need to get through him to have anyone good starring in your media. Velvette's promotions and designs are too valuable to not beg for. They work very well together and make it so that everyone else needs them.
The only thing they lack is territory. What they own is small, but solid. They have a building that is mostly Velvette's studio with an apartment on the top floor that Val calls his house (though they live together) and Val owns some of the surrounding streets and clubs. They have enough muscle to defend their territory but not enough to fight for more. Their business, while successful, is limited and its hard to steal the souls of other demons that they can't make use of or manage properly. They're both limited to only swiping up the desirable or desperate before anyone else.
(A third person would be soooo useful to them…)

Seeing Orb (Aka What if Orb v2.0) Variation of the Eve!Lilith!Alastor and Alastor in Wonderland AU:
This is mostly just me going 'but what if it wasn't just the hotel group (and spying Vox) that found out about the swap and then Sera forcing the reincarnation and Alastor and the asylum and Bumby and everything, but all the overlords/people at the hotel/Emily/all of hell watching the televised meeting of Overlords and heaven and the hotel?'
First the orb is revealed, people use it to ask questions about where loved ones in heaven are now and so on, the fact that Alastor was the lynchpin for everyone not fucking DYING is revealed, and then Lucifer asks 'what's so great about him anyway' and the orb starts showing Eve in Eden, and the swap and the fall - and Lucifer and Charlie are learning Lilith was Eve all along and adjusting to that, but no one realises this was from a question about ALASTOR - until she learns of the Exterminations and goes to the embassy and demands to speak with Sera and is brought to heaven - and forcibly reincarnated, and the soul sent back in time. Incidentally, when that happens, og!Lilith is there and grabs her phone, and is the one who reveals that a soul forced to reincarnate will go back in time to use its past self as essentially a soul splint - and she learned this because she used to use the seeing orb to watch Eve, got confused when suddenly she was watching both her and this random baby, realised something was up, and asked Sera about a soul being in two places at once - and she goes to her beach and contacts...Rosie, and asks her how 'he's' doing. He's unconscious, Rosie tells her.
And then the seeing orb goes back through time, and shows - Alastor. Alastor, crying for Charlie, eyes glowing purple, correcting people on scripture, telling off the priest, being a weird little kid - Alastor, discovering what Lucifer recognises as the ruins of Eden and naming it 'wonderland' and bring it to life as a place to go inside his head and his heart, full of magic and wonder...
And then - the fire.
The asylum. The orderly's and Alastor trying to kill himself and the electroshock therapy and the trepanning and the bindings. Alastor with vacant eyes and no smile.
Alastor and his rabbit - and his fall into a wrecked wonderland, putting it and himself back together.
'You've grown quite mangy cat - but your smile is a comfort.'
'A smile is a valuable tool Alastor. It helps your friends, confuses your enemies, and makes sure you are in control.'
Alastor curing himself. Talking to Dr Wilson, smiling, alive, living happily, reuniting with Nounou and Mimzy and living in the orphange and having the appointments with Dr Bumby, following a cute (ugly) cat, and then - wonderland, again.
The revelations.
Killing Bumby.
His life, taking care of the orphanage, playing for Mimzy, fighting his way through racism to become the host of his own radio show while not able to go through the same doors or use the same bathrooms as white people.
Him hunting. Him killing. Him saving.
Getting worried about not going to hell, summoning Rosie, her saying she'll make a deal so he can come to hell, and him asking for - protection and help, and her promising. 'when you get here I'll set you up with a house and make sure you are always fed and are safe and protected - you'll be the strongest sinner when you get here, but if any demon hurts you I'll keep you safe, deal?'
'Deal,' says Alastor, and then the next day dies.
*cracks knuckles* Okay, first, the Overlords we barely know and had little to no context beforehand; no prior knowledge of Wonderland and just learning that the spooky Radio Demon is the now confirmed dead Queen bought back to life.
This is helluva lot of information to be dropped all at once, but the mystique of the Radio Demon has been stripped away and they feel more comfortable around him now after seeing him defending the weak and vulnerable, even thinking he seems to be a decent guy.
Overlord Zeezi is feeling vindicated after the judging stares she got when introducing child sinners found in her territory to Alastor for shelter.
They all wonder if they should start referring to him as “Your Majesty.”
Zestial and Carmilla, who knew Alastor, Wonderland and the late Queen personally, are finding answers to so many of their questions, but not liking the answers.
Zestial is deeply saddened by what happened to his not-grandson and Carmilla, having witnessed what Alastor and the children had gone through before in life, feels even worse for the team up with Vox and how betrayed the Radio Demon must’ve felt to see her sitting at that table.
Sera had thought she understood her crimes.
Then she saw Eden and herself from Eve’s perspective, taking away her Free Will mere minutes after being ‘born’ and being unable to protect herself from the obliviously cruel Adam. Her grateful tears and real smile after choosing to take the Apple.
Eve choosing Hell over Heaven and living a happy life with Lucifer.
The First Extermination and Eve’s outraged reaction causing her go to the embassy to stop it and Sera’s own dismissive attitude before forcing Eve into reincarnation ‘for her own good.’
She saw Eve Alastor’s life, losing his family to a monster and how he became a killer to hunt other monsters protected by the corrupt system. She saw him choosing Hell over Heaven again, siting his belief that his children will need him down there and being proven right after dying the next day and finding resourceful little Connie in Hell.
She saw sinners, including children, living peacefully in the Looking Glass Sanctuary alongside Hellborn.
The First Extermination Day again, but this time from Alastor’s perspective and as one of the targets. The terror of watching these sinners who she had grown to care for as actual people, fleeing in terror from the army she had personally sent to kill them.
She remembers the attempted apology that was thrown back in her face… and is forced to admit that Vox was right.
Emily is traumatised by what she saw. She has lived in Heaven all her life and though she had known of death, murder, suicide, abuse, racial discrimination, paedophilia, genocide and rape as concepts. They had never truly felt real after a perfect existence in Heaven and her brief adventure to Hell had done little to truly prepare her for what the Orb had shown her.
Like Charlie, she had heard the story of Eden, but only the sanitised and biased version. She was unable to stop herself, after seeing Eve’s real smile.
“Lucifer did the right thing.”
She was the one who had suggested the Gift Baskets- even if Sera had agreed and took the brunt of the blame for it- and is feeling so small and foolish after seeing the true scale of the Exterminations. She is not sure she could ever look at Sera the same way after seeing all this. She is not sure if could look at her at all.
She wonders if Alastor would allow her to meet those poor children in the Sanctuary. He does.
Overlord Geppetto (aka Bumby) would also be viewing this with the other Overlords though, as usual, he wouldn’t be there in person; you didn’t mention a reveal of Bumby’s sinner form and Overlord status, and Lucifer’s question was focused on ‘What made Alastor so special?’ so I’m assuming his anonymity is mostly intact, but one of his puppets is there to act as a proxy.
He is nervously sweating in one of his ‘workshops’ when he hears literally everyone talking about how they’ll beat the crap out of him if they find him before dragging him to King Morningstar for a formal Execution and mentally pats himself on the back for keeping himself hidden. He just hopes no one thinks to use the orb to find his current hideouts, before sending puppets out to prepare more.
Despite that major setback, he admits to himself that it was fascinating to see Wonderland for real, even if it’s only through a vision, and the reveal of Alastor’s past life as Eve answers some of the questions that he had gathered during their old therapy sessions and confirmed just how special his precious doll truly was.
If Hell in general were to see… Alastor suddenly has a lot of new fans! Movements are formed; some demanding that the Radio Queen take his/her/their position on the throne back, others lining up to offer their souls in exchange for sanctuary and certain smaller groups among the Goetia hoping to have the Queen’s reincarnation ‘disposed of’ as things were easier without her interference.
